Are you kidding me? They already think that thing is here... we just can't see it or some such magical nonsense. The problem becomes what happens when individuals who believe this stuff have power - and I'm not just talking about them literally being voted into an elected office, but power in their ability to influence people to make bad decisions. Decisions that aren't intended for the better of the world and our people... but for the purpose of bringing destruction and chaos... because if 'Jesus' isn't coming fast enough for them, they'll stop at nothing to 'make it so'. These beliefs are more widespread than you think. They are not a small crackpot subset.

Bull cocky!  Let's not exaggerate now.  These people are a very tiny subset of the U.S. population and the rest of the population don't take them seriously.

You need to wonder?

I thought there was already an excellent example?

Where? I haven't been reading about this subject for a long time, so I'm wondering where that perfect example is.

Excellent post!

Not only are embassies normally in the capital city of a country, every other American Embassy in every other country in the world is in the designated capital of the host country - EVERY SINGLE DARN ONE!

Only in this situation it's kinda different. Israel isn't any other country.

No, it is exactly the same.  It seems you are implying that Israel isn't a valid and sovereign country.  Are you implying that?  Otherwise, I don't understand what you mean when you say it "isn't any other country".

Mecca, try going there Beachlover.  Let us know how that turns out for you. :jest:

The Temple Mount, take some Jewish and Christian folks with you and ask them to start praying there.  Likewise, let us know how that turns out for you.

Ehm...I believe your imagination is taking a hold of you.

The beginning of Israel was and is controversial to begin with. Regardless whether you're pro or against, politicaly it's  been and still is very tense . Forgetting that fact is kinda ignorant...

PS, don't put words in my mouth.

Well, actually I can go to Mecca with my Moroccan passport, different case going with my passport to Israel though.

Besides, comparing Mecca with Jerusalem is comparing apples with pears ( hope that's the right fruit?).

Can you name a Jewish or Christian holy place in Mecca for me?

FYI, I don't have the desire to visit either Jerusalem or Mecca, so no praying at the temple mount for me guess...sigh..

Israel is not the only country in the world that had a controversial beginning.  The beginning of Israel has nothing to do with that fact that it is a sovereign and valid nation, and has subsequently designated Jerusalem as the capital.  Again, this is the only country in the world where the U.S. Embassy is not located in the designated capital of a country, period.

You can go there if you are Muslim.  You cannot go there if you are Christian or Jewish.  You can't legally step foot in the city.  That is fact.

It doesn't matter if there are holy places of other religions there.  You asked for an example of a Muslim controlled place that bans other religions.  I gave you two.  What say you about the Temple Mount?

No, it's not the only one, but we are talking about Israel now, next time when we talk about another country ( let's say SA) we can focus on that. Just look at the way you react, assuming things and putting words in my mouth.

And I understand that, because again it's a very controversial subject, which exactly proofs my point. Personally, I couldn't care less where a country put their embassy or where they don't. But I do care when I believe that it is going to affect the world politics and dynamics.

And whether you deny it or not, this will. And only history will tell whether it was the best move or not. At this point, I personally believe it's not. But maybe I'm wrong and will this bring the peace for the Palestinians and the Israelis.

As it should be. All three religions consider it as a very important place. Not just recently, not just to make a point or proof something.

You are mistaking my unemotional, rational, and logical posts for something entirely different.  Why is that?

I'm not putting any words in your mouth.  You brought up that the beginning of Israel was controversial, which has nothing to do with Israel having the right to designate their own capital and the fact that the U.S. Embassy in Israel is the only U.S. Embassy not located in a country's designated capital.  You also brought up your opinion that Israel is different from any other country.

I'm still waiting for your response to my question about the Temple Mount.
