Germany was unified. No one else had any claim to Berlin anymore. The differences are quite obvious.

Just because a nation is soverign doesn't mean it has the right to claim territories that are in dispute. Not all military aggressive occupations should be recognised. Like it or not, that is how Israel took Jerusalem.

There is a continued ongoing dispute over the control and right of Jerusalem. They are the only "soverign nation" in the world that insists on a capitol that another group (who have just as much right to "soverignty" as they do) also claim.

If Canada decided to name their new Capitol as Portland, Maine would we move our embassy there? As a soverign nation they reserve the right to name their capitol after all. Oh what was that? Portland isn't theirs?

What makes Jerusalem Israel's? Other than Israel's aggression and prior military actions?

The winners write history, not the losers.

Ah yes...just a technicality.

That technicality is what led to Israel thinking they can claim Jerusalem as their own. Most of the world recognises the issue isn't so black and white. Thankfully.

You obviously don't know history, I give up.

Yes, it is a technicality. Israel literally bombed those enemy planes on the ground a few hours before they were to take off and attack.

Because you used this quotes to support your claim that this girl is the laughing stock of Israelis and Arabs?

Otherwise I don't see why you specifically choose this quotes, there are many who support her you know.

laughing stock? I don't recall it saying anything about laughing stock, perhaps you should read again.

Did Jordan took land from this specific village?

Also, two wrongs don't make a right.

Was Jordan not an illegal occupier of the west bank? Who do you think Israel took the west bank from? Palestine?

I am quite well versed in history. I know all this already.

Israel was still the aggressor. As they had been previously. They "reunified" by force. It has remained in contention since (and was in contention long before).

Can't wait to see our Govt cut the funding for this ridiculous and annoying (I work a few blocks away) CIRCUS.

Take names, they will remember this.

I'm ashamed to also be an Italian citizen and to have had my govt vote for this nonsense.

The capital of Israel is Jerusalem. Enough said.

Also, I'm pretty good at geography and history. I don't recall any State called Palestine. Palestine was a British mandate. Israel declared independence in 1948. Whoever stayed in (Arabs included) became Israeli citizens. Other people left thinking the State would be destroyed. They were wrong, too bad.

Yup, or all the countries Israel continually helps just for them to stab it in the back again and again. Sorry SA, figure out your agriculture on your own

Israel is a sovereign nation. Israel decides what its Capital is, not the UN.

Israel is not 'occupying' territories. Israel won several wars (which they never started, btw) and it took those territories (for self-defense, to be noted).

Israel only technically started the 6-day war. Reality is that they had great intelligence info and they did a pre-emptive strike a few hours earlier. Even the other parts concur.

It didn't work? We'll see in the future. The silver lining of having a douchebag as President is that he will cut the US contribution to the UN. And I will proudly support that.

You are 100% correct sir(I think?)...you deserve a gold medal. The only wars Israel was ever in were wars of self defense, and Jerusalem always has been and always will be the capital, anyone believing otherwise is delusional.

You know I have have the utmost respect for you.

Respectfully, I have to disagree with you. Despite my belief they Israel deserves it's soverignty, it still took it by force, aggressively. It's origins lie in agression. It then followed that up by more aggression to take more than their share.

We can still believe Israel deserves to exist while acknowledging that. Jerusalem isn't as easy and simple as "it belongs to Israel". Neither side should think that way.

That's not the issue here, read the links I added about the village. Its not Jordans who are taking the land in the village.

Some posters said earlier there is more to the story, and yes they are right, although I'm aware that it's not the "more" they are implying.

Likewise. I completely disagree Israel's origins lie in aggression. Objective history simply doesn't support that. Also, Jerusalem was Israel's capital in 1948, not only after the six day war. Like I said before, it has nothing at all to do with east Jerusalem, and the refusal to acknowledge even west Jerusalem as Israel's capital is childish at best.
