Trying to prepare for our interview that is next month!

Are you allowed to bring phones in to the consulate?

Who is allowed to accompany the person interviewing? I am the petitioner and would like to know if I can go with my beneficiary.

Thanks!!

You can bring phones into the consulate but they will be collected by security and held in a cubby until you leave. Keys too. No large bags or purses, laptops or other electronics.

The petitioner can enter the building with valid ID (passport or DL) and go up to the interview waiting room but they cannot go up to the document intake window nor the actual interview window.

Guys i have a question.Just got interview notice for my spouse next month in MTL. He listed his indian passport on all forms up until now, including DS 260. He just obtained a Canadian passport last month and that is the passport he would like to enter the US on. When we go to register for the the interview appt online, it says to enter passport details: The information entered below must match the applicant’s passport and DS-260 Number application. Any discrepancy will result in delays in the return of the applicant’s documents.

Should he enter the indian passport details here? and then just take both passports to the interview? Tried calling but they weren't too helpful. thanks.

That or he can redo his DS260 to reflect the new passport, submit that and bring both the new DS260 confirmation page and both passports to the interview.

Ds-260 wont be able to be redone.  Ita closed once its completed.

Bring both passports to interview.

When you say it was ready for pickup on Friday, does that mean you didn't choose the expedite option to send to your house? If you could clarify  that would be great.

Can you chose to pick it up at the embassy after your interview?

Hey all, under 'Items to bring to your medical examination', the first requirement states:

You should bring the following items to your medical exam:

  • Your visa interview appointment letter with your case number or confirmation e-mail.

I'm trying to prepare as much as possible prior to receiving my interview appointment letter (gather docs to bring, etc.) - but it seems there's nothing I can do for medical exam until I receive my interview appointment letter, correct?

If anyone has any tips/advice on preparing for medical exam prior to receiving the interview appointment letter, would love to hear your thoughts!

You cannot schedule a medical until you have an interview letter in hand.  You CAN, however, collect your immunization records for the medical exam and ensure you have the required jabs.  If you don't have an immunization record, it would be in your best interest to have a titers test done to find out which immunities you possess and to get any deficiencies taken care of.

Thank you very much for your reply! I do have an immunization record book, but I wouldn't mind taking a titers test, just to confirm as well. Also, can anyone confirm if the vaccinations found here make up all of the required vaccinations I will need to prove I have?

Looks like the list is the standard list for the majors needed.  Yearly flu shot is dependent on the time of year for your interview and the covid vaccines are supposed to be updated to reflect newer variants, so you'll just have to keep an eye on whether that one changes to a fall booster or not.
