Once approved, roughly how long does it take to get the paperwork to allow you to cross the border?

I had my interview June 13th and received the email today (June 28th) that my Visa is ready to be picked up. So about two weeks. I live fairly close to Montreal so it might be a bit longer if it has farther to travel.

Hi all. We are CR-1, so Montreal assigns our interview date. We live in Calgary, so we're planning to do the medical when we fly for the interview.

I'm wondering if anyone has had problems with appointment availability around the date of their interview? Like within a week beore? (I know it takes 3 days to get the results). I just assumed appointments would be available relative to interviews being scheduled but getting nervous if that's not the case. Thank you!

Hi guys. For the affadavit of support for K1, did you fill out the I134 or the I864? My packet 3 and 4 say different things.... Also did you get a wet ink signature or would a photocopy suffice?

P4 states the procedure for more than one type of Visa. You'll have to keep reading to the K1 part. It's near to the end.

You need the I-134 for your K1 interview and then you'll need the I-864 when you Adjust Status. Hope it helps.

I had my fiance fill out the form, sign it with a pen, scan & email it to me. I found this on the USCIS website:

"A signature is valid even if the original signature is later photocopied, scanned, faxed, or similarly reproduced. Regardless of how it is transmitted to USCIS, the copy must be of an original document containing a handwritten, ink signature, unless regulations or the form instructions state otherwise."

I called Medisys in Montreal to ask about this before i booked my visa interview (K1). They were very flexible, and even joked that they could get me in that day if i could make it lol. They are quite accommodating.

Since interview dates are usually more than a month out...there's always space for booking the medical. I had many dates to choose from and I called Medisys the same day I scheduled my interview. You will be fine :)

We did both.  Only the I134 is required at this step but our lawyer said some have been turned away because they didn't have the I864, so we should have it ready.  Then later when we filed for AOS, we just updated the I864.

We did wet-ink signature.

My fiance had his medical this afternoon in Toronto at Dr. Mascarenhas office. He had all of the requested documents ready and was in and out in 30 mins. He said most of it was filling out quick forms including a list of Yes/No questions. The Dr was with him for less than 5 minutes, took a quick look at the papers, said he looked like a healthy guy and that was that. To quote him "That was stupid easy", so medical for him was a breeze!

Good luck friends!!

Did your fiance get a chest x-ray, blood samples, urine tests, vaccinations checks? Or maybe have these organized beforehand?

He did. His appointment was at 1:15pm, so maybe he just got lucky on it being quieter than morning appointments. He did have the vaccination sheet filled out in advance by his normal doctor and also picked up a copy of his public health record with all of his childhood vaccinations beforehand, so had had both of those along with the other documents ready to go.

Ours came by DHL in 5 days. That was two years ago.
