Can anyone elaborate how we get MTL to email Packet 3 to us rather than waiting for snail mail.

I updated our file with NVC with both our email addresses but I'm unsure if this will be still on file once it reaches MTL.

You can't call MTL so how do they get the beneficiary's email if we don't ask NVC to put it in our case file?

Just email them so they can register your email. But Montreal usually use emails to communicate. They will snail mail you but they email you first.

I don’t get it tho. So you never gave your email address to any of the forms?

No why would I? I129f form has nowhere to give that info for the Beneficiary only the Petitioner...There is nowhere for that info.

How does the embassy ever get the beneficiary's email other than the beneficiary contacting the embassy themselves?

This, by far has been the biggest issue that has racked my brain through this whole process with no one ever disclosing the answer.

As soon as I got my case number from NVC on the phone, I added both mine and petitioners email to the file (before they sent it to the MTL) It will still be on file when it gets sent to MTL. Also, MTL never did email me packet 3. They only emailed it to my beneficiary and he forwarded it to me.

Dealing with the MTL has been the absolute worst part of this whole experience. It took me one full hour to book my interview last night because their payment processing system is really bad. And you can call MTL by the way. I was on the phone with 4 different agents last night. Each time they tried to transfer me to the telephone "Payment IVR system" their phone lines would disconnect me, or not recognize the account number I was told to put in. A few times, I called back, waited on hold and the line would disconnect the minute they finally answered. The phone # for MTL is 1-438-793-1947. Just listen to the prompts, but to get a person, I believe you press 1, then 8, then 4. They're soooo nice and helpful once they answer, but their phone system is messed up.

Congrats again!!!!!🎉🎉🎉

I'll do all the major stuff, and give my notice once I have the Visa in hand, but I have a lot of stuff I can get rid of/sell before that. Also, canceling memberships, making lists of stuff to do, etc. But the real work with begin after my interview! lol Thanks so much!!

Montreal just opened up appointments!!! I just booked mine!! July 11!!!!!! I had an awful time though. That was probably the most frustrating thing I've ever done. Their payment system does NOT work properly!! But, after giving up after an hour of their system telling me they couldn't process my payment, I tried once more and it finally went through!!!

Yay!!!!!!! I booked mine yesterday too! I was outside tanning (giving my computer starring a rest lol) and when I came back in there were dates available so I picked July 11th!!!!! Wohooooo!!! Like you, I'm going to keep that time...lots to do before that time. So happy!!!

There was a form that you can actually request to be informed thru email. I included it to my I-129F application before.

It was the form G-1145 e-notification form. Plus if you’ve signed up with uscis website before, they would have your email.

It may be too late now. But you can jut email MTL so they can get your email.

Yes, NVC definitely had my fiancee's (petitioner) email on file as we did put it somewhere on the I-129.

Right, of course. I'm referring to the Beneficiary's email though not the Petitioner. That does not get filed anywhere so my question was how does the Beneficiary receive packet 3 via email if USCIS/NVC/Embassy has never been informed of it on ANY form.

After NOA2 involves the beneficiary so we shouldn't have to notify anyone. They should be accommodating on the original forms.

^^^Yes the G-1145 is for the PETITIONER.

I updated our file with NVC with both our email addresses but I'm unsure if this will be still on file once it reaches MTL.

Hi, it will come. It just takes some time. We gave NVC our emails.. I got my packet 3 by email (I'm the beneficiary). We then followed instructions on Packet3, sent it by email as per their instructions and got Packet4.  Montreal does all their filing electronically. Trust me, it will come. Hope this helps! PS. If you haven't already given NVC your email, you can still do this. They will attach it to your electronic file

Right, so if Montreal does all of its filing electronically why has the beneficiary's email address not been included from the start?

I don't work for the US government but I did do a stage at the Embassy of Canada after University. All I can assume is that people change jobs, addresses, emails, hence the need to provide the latest emails/verify information. For instance, I called Medisys today and they asked me to provide my email, telephone number and address again even though I'm already a patient of theirs. Its just normal due diligence. I gave it to them again even though it's already in their system and I was just there. Its the same idea for this process. They just want the most current contact info . Hope this helps you!

I don't think anyone is getting my point, lol.

The Beneficiary's email is never ASKED for by any immigration entity. They only ask for the Petitioner's on the G1145. That makes no sense if they are all trying to go electronic. How would the beneficiary receive the emailed packet 3????

If beneficiary's do not know that they have to OFFER/GIVE NOTICE of their email to immigration, they will just have to wait for their Petitioner to forward documents THAT PERTAIN TO THE BENEFICIARY ONLY (???) or wait for snail mail????

(If i did that I'd get absolutely nowehere as my Petitioner doesnt check his email and lets the snail mail sit unopened on the table for months).

It makes no sense. And it's never discussed here.
