Hello!

Our petition was approved by the USCIS on November 7th. Since then, we have been waiting for them to send it to NVC. But it is December 5th today but we sti don't have any news from the NVC. We are getting a bit frustrated with the whole situation. Can anyone tell us what we should do? And how long did it take for you guys to get the notice from the NVC when you got the approved notice from USCIS?

Many thanks :)

I don't recall how long it took from approval to transfer (though the info may be on my VJ time line). Have you checked what the standard time is? Once you've gone beyond that, that's what USCIS can start looking into things.

I do recall however that the NVC didn't log mine properly, so I was actually farther than I thought we were.

Most of cases within 7-10 business day. Mine was within 3 business days. May be you should call USCIS and ask them about it

Unfortunately, Right now it is taking around 4 weeks. If you ask in may thread you'll see lots of people in the same situation and they made a list to see how long it took for each person.

for K1 to give you an idea in November 2016 there were 2,466,667 cases at NVC stage holding for processing

and the number goes up every year

as soon as they receive your packet and it is put into computer,  you will receive your new case number according to the country and embassy it is assigned

this is a hurry up and wait (and wait) game

after the number is assigned for your K1 (if no RFE is required) your case will go for interview when the embassy has an opening

just to let you know it is imortant to put on here a timeline and country as then any questions you are best answered by community of the country

each of our countries has different requirements and embassy rules
