Hello Everyone!

I am currently working here in Jeddah Saudi Arabia for 5years now. I first applied in July 2017 here in Jeddah and suddenly I get denied. That time, I just had visited Singapore, Istanbul Turkey and Hongkong. After denial, I traveled to Dubai, France, Belgium and Netherlands.

Since I went for my annual vacation in the Philippines last month(Nov2017), I tried again to apply hoping I get approved. This time, I have JAPAN, UK & Canada Tourist visa and all are still valid til 2018 but I have not traveled yet to this countries. So when I was in the window for the interview, the CO took my passport and just put in his table. He didn't even bother to open whats inside in my passport. He asked me 4 questions only.

1-Purpose of Visit-I wanna go on tour and to see what U.S.A has to offer

2-Have relatives in U.S-NO

3-Single/Married-Single

4-What you do for A living-I am currently working in Saudi Arabia for 5yrs now as AP Supervisor @ name of the company.

Then he get the blue paper and gave it to..saying I was denied. I was like out of my mind for a while to know I was denied. I never expect because of the current visas that I have in my passport.

So I am planning again to re-apply for the third times maybe by May 2017 after I will visit U.K..

I hope I can get it this time and hoping the CO will scan or check now my passport whats inside.

Unless your circumstances have changed before then, you'll most likely be facing a 3rd denial.   Other than your job what other strong ties do you have back in your home country to prove you will return to Saudi Arabia?

The different tourist visas all at once may be working against you, too, actually.

Are you Filipino?  Just wondering as you are saying you have been working in Saudi Arabia for 5 yrs so I am assuming you are not a Saudi citizen.  Getting a B1/B2 is all up to the CO and their belief that you will not have immigration intent on a visitor visa.  You seem to be focused on your travel record to other countries, but what did you show relative to ties to either Saudi Arabia, or to your home country?  I know my wife (girlfriend/fiancé at the time) was denied twice herself (Russian consulates), she had family, work and property ties to Russia, but she had no travel record.  Of course we are not sure had she been able to show an international travel record she would have been approved, but I think it might have helped.  Regardless, to my knowledge, the US does not have a reciprocity clause related to visas for other countries, just because Japan, UK, Canada or the EU issues a visitor visa, does not mean the US has to follow suit.

Good Luck!

I dont have any relatives in the U.S and I've been here in Saudi for 5yrs and my contract is renewed every year. I was confident that time because of other tourist visas that are still valid with me though I have not visited yet..I just dont really understand sometimes what CO is thinking..my parents are all in Philippines and I dont have also intent to stay in the US illegally.. I will surely come back here in Saudi

Yes I am Filipino. I have with me that time employment contract which are still valid until oct2018.  I am also single and my parents are living in the Philippines.. Sometimes, I can say its unfair. I have a stable job here in Saudi..my purely intent of visiting U.S is for tourism...

Thank you.. I will try again nextyr..this would be my last attempt....

CO might be thinking "he's a single guy with no family in Saudi Arabia, and no home ownership, so nothing to make him go back there".

CO might be thinking "he's got multiple tourist visas to different countries which means he's able to spend lots of time outside of Saudi Arabia, and take lots of time off work, which proves even weaker ties to returning after travelling abroad."

CO might be thinking "he applied twice in 2017, and applied a 3rd time early 2018, which makes him look desperate to come to the US for some reason other than just tourism."

Other than your job in Saudi Arabia, do you have any other ties?

Unfortunately no.. I am just here in Saudi Arabia bcoz of my job and my parents/siblings are all in the Philippines.

Do you think I will re apply by 2019? not advisable this 2018 after I will visit for UK & Canada?.. when I visit other countries, I just spend max 2 weeks as I have also my work.. I am not spending for more than a month...

Getting approved depends on whether your personal circumstances have changed since your last denial.

If they haven't changed at all, then the chance of getting approved lessens.

Visiting other countries (and returning) during this time might help, but not much....all you can do is try.

Thank you for your comment.. I really do I can get on this 3rd attempt,.. at this time, I already have a new contract which be valid til 2019 and my salary will increase a bit.

My colleague was even denied and it was shocking for me bcoz he had previously B2(10yrs M.E) visa about to expire this month dec2017 and he has previously also working visa before in the U.S and he traveled to EU too.

The main thing a CO is looking for is proof of no intent to immigrate.  They determine the validity of the proof by looking at how strong your ties are back to where you are currently living, as one example.  Proof of employment, active bank accounts, proof of being able to finance your trip, proof of assets, proof of home/lease, etc. are all good things if you have them.

Good luck.

I have all the supporting docs with me on my first application. Bank statement showing good balance out of my salary+savings, COE, payslips, travel insurance from our company.. and since I am already 5yrs+ in our company, I was confident that time.. but all my supporting docs were not even asked by the CO... he just asked my passport.. I think that was not yet my time.. hopefully, I will try after one year...

Thank you...

Hi, its not actually for a show.. prior to my u.s visa application I have applied for UK&Canada visas already and both were approved luckily. I will travel to UK by April  for a week and 2weeks in Canada by Jul or Aug2017... I am thinking if after traveled to this country, I can re apply again? I am now afraid for denials. This will be my 3rd times to apply. I am wondering if I will re-apply only anytime on 2019 so at least there is one year gap between my applications...

And that's why i feel bad with the CO bcoz he never opened my passport so he does not know I have these visas and then he denied me..

So this is my thought, officer thinks you are going to look for work. Not only can “see what US has to offer” be ambiguous in that sense, but it takes time and money to apply for a visa and to only have a vague answer of “touring” implies you haven’t actually done any research as to where or what you’d like to visit, yet you’re spending money on the visa and planning to fly halfway round the world on a vague notion.

It sounds suspicious.

not sure they really care where else you’ve been to be honest. Why do they need to look inside your passport? The form if I recall only asks about US travel history, not anywhere else.

Hi.. I have been visiting several countries and all the places were mentioned in my application... based on what I have read, answer only what is being asked, and so I answered only my main purpose which is generally for tourism..

I was asked in my first application, the countries i have visited and the CO  is checking on my passport that time every single page on it...maybe for visas/or immigration stamps...

if they don't want to look whats inside in your passport, whats the purpose of the CO asking it to give it to him during interview?.. I dont see any reason why the CO will ask your passport during interview and just put in your table? what for?
