December 2017 i130 filers

Hello Everyone, I’m new to this forum, I would like to send some hope. My case was sent to Potomac with priority date December 5,2017. On June 18,2018 my case was sent to NVC. 

 

I called USCIS at the end of May and asked if there is anything I can do to get my husband here sooner. They said to apply for the K3, using the I129F form. I know most people say it doesn’t help anything but 18 days after they received my I129F they approved my I130. 

 

I just want to send some encouragement. It is a long process but it helps when you have people going through it with you.

That's awesome. I'm at Potomac Dec 5 pd. What did you send in with you application?

It is free to file, just pay for the postage. I sent the I-797 and the application. They told me to address the envelope to the USCIS in Texas. I don’t remember the address.

I forgot to mention, although this part is optional, I sent a g-1145 form as well.

Once the noa2 has been approved how soon does the letter arrive? And do you have a deadline to get the affidavit finances over to the nvc? And will the uscis send our case there? Sorry for all the questions lol thanks

Unfortunately it will be another period of waiting before NVC actually receives the documents from USCIS  and enters into their system to generate a case number and Invoice ID. While you are waiting for all of that you can read up on the NVC process and get all of your documents in order so they are ready when things start to move along. Please see the links below to learn more about NVC phase.

 

Saylin wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;)Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!

On June 22 Our case was sent to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) for visa processing (NVC)
