So my wife and I just adopted two of our nieces from Nigeria. The judge has given approval and they are now ours. Their parents are alive, though. What forms do I need to bring them to the States? What else do I need to look out for? How long will it take? My wife and I are citizens through naturalization.

Hm, these are probably questions you should have asked before adopting them. This page outlines the issues from non-Hague, non-orphan children (scroll down). https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/how-bring-your-adopted-child-the-us.html

In order to bring a child from a non-Hague country, you must have lived with and been in legal custody of them for two years.

Why are you only figuring out the logistics *after* adopting two children?

none because us laws does not allow people to adopt nieces with two live parents for immigration.  if immigration was possible, everybody would adopt their nieces and nephews.  you are not the first to think of this idea.  the us government has too and has a specific law not allowing immigration like this.

u should have done research before adopting.

Prior to the adoption you need to have a home study done here in the US to verify you are suitable parents.  You then have to have the US adoption agency oversea the process in Nigeria. You both have to be Nigerian citizens ( Nigerian law )  and you have to have custody of the child for 2 years before you can apply for the visa.    We filled out a character survey about a year ago for a cousin that just is to the point of completing an adoption from Nigeria.  Also  as the prior posters said the child must be declared available for adoption which means that the parents are dead.  At this point you are now responsible for a child that is will not be seeing a visa to the US anytime in the near future.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
