Thanks for your promt reply. So basically as a green card holder, I just simply apply for citizenship? Is there any specific part of the N400 form, where they can question you about receiving public benefit at all? Or Uscis has access to all this information, if you received public benefits?

I don't believe there is any part of the N-400 that asks about receiving public benefits.  LPR's are eligible for most public benefits and, based on what I have seen, the rule cannot prevent LPR's from applying for citizenship because that would go beyond the law that the rule supports.  USCIS may have information through some sort of database like SAVE, or something, but I don't think you need to worry about that. If asked, respectfully challenge the question by asking how that applies to your situation and ask for a reference.  Always be honest.  But you are good.

Hi friend,

Yes, everyone is in the same situation.  The processing time for ROC is about 16-18 months.  If you filed in December 2017, unless the service centers speed up, it may take up past May 2019 to August or September 2019 to get approved.

So can i apply for Citizenship in December 2018 as my GC expires in March 2019 (3 years in USA)  or should i follow the new time line as i got 6 month green card extension letter from USCIS and according to that i got extension from march 2019 + 6 months means september 2019.

When should i count my 90 days and apply?

In december 2018 as march 2019 will be 3 years.

or

July 2019 as per extension letter from USCIS?

Please let me know. i am so confused between these two.

Yes I checked the USCIS processing time , in Vermont center it now says 14.5-17 months, looks like its the fastest out of the four so I will sure update here if something happens my friend.

Folks,

I am tracking previous months files on VJ. For example Aug, Sep & Oct 2017 filers. So far, only May 2017 filers start to getting an approvals here and there. So hang in there, I guess new year will deliver the good news! if not sooner.

Nope, my husband's still says from June 18th and we didn't receive an update notification.  September 29th was a Saturday, but maybe they touched the case?  That was over two weeks ago, so you should have heard something, but who knows?  Maybe there is hope?  I think VSC is at the end of June 2017 ROC cases, but y'never know!  Keep us posted!

This is different.  You have the “notifications” for weekly updates turned on (I had to turn mine off) and your date may not say September.  My date still says June, but at least two of us have some update from last month.

Well, given the fact that I am obsessed with my husband's immigration process and the recent possible 'touches' from cases on our thread, I did some poking around.  I was rather encouraged!  I see that some as late as on the July 2017 and August 2017 have been approved!  That's good news for us!  I don't see a September 2017 thread, but if some that filed in August are being approved, then some of our cases may see some action in early 2019. 😆

That's still a while away, but it will be nice when we can dust off our old Dec '17 ROC Case Tracker again!

We got this exact email also. But we also received a response to our service request about the missing 18 month extension letter on that day, so we assumed that was why. What is worrying is that when we login into the account, we don't see any history regarding the request even though other people who did the same request have it in their history. We also never received the letter even though they wrote that they would mail another one.
