If anyone else calls and gets a different answer, would love to know! Email I was told to email was lockboxsupport@dhs.gov but I would call so we can see if maybe others will get better info maybe? I'm not really sure why the immigration officer couldn't initiate a new send herself. If someone hears something else please share!

I called yesterday and voiced my concerns ( not a Tier 2) about the extension not being watermarked and the legal blurb etc.

After I asked if the original would come to me since I was representing my self, and was told it’s possible🤷🏼‍♀️

I was eventually told to carry both the 12 & 18 mth notices along with my expired green card. I was also told she would attach my 18 mth notice to my 12 mth notice 🤷🏼‍♀️ whatever that means...feeling it was pointless I didn’t inquire further!

11/27/17 - Recieved notice from DHS to file I-751

12/14/17 - Submitted I-751 to CSC

12/18/17 - Received by CSC

12/20/17 - Check cashed
12/22/17 - Recieved NOA

12/18/17 - NOA issue date

Whats the difference between plain (white)  or watermark 18 mounts extension ?

thank you!

The plain white one is a coutesy copy and not the actual notice. It states that the original was sent to the attorney listed on the G-28 form submitted with the application.

Thing is, I did not use an attorney, so I should have gotten the original. The same thing has happened to some others on here.

Isn’t this part of the old transfers where some of us received transfer letters?

Traveled overseas, got back and found the 18 months extension in the mailbox.

Unfortunately, traveling with the expired green card is a mess. Waited an hour in line just to get to the Kiosk, then the green card didn't go through because its expired and had to wait another half an hour to see the officer at the booth. Terrible experience at ORD.

09/03/15 - AOS mailed to Chicago

10/05/15 - RFE recvd

10/07/15 - Biometrics done, RFE sent

10/13/15 - Online status changed RFE under review

10/15/15 - 2nd RFE issued and mailed

11/18/15 - RFE response sent

12/03/15 - i765 Approved

12/10/15 - EAD recvd

12/17/15 - Interview is scheduled on Jan 21

01/21/16 - Approved/Card in production

01/28/16 - GC recvd

We didn't have a problem too, just the inconvenience because the Kiosk declined the card and we had to get in line with all the other ESTA and Visa immigrants.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello everyone!

I just noticed my case was transferred to the local office from Vermont (I assume Boston and in April). I filed Dec 4th and I am still waiting to get the 18 month extension. My current extension expires in January. My friend filed few months before me and just got his a few weeks back.

Traveling to UK for Christmas, which the current letter should be fine but travelling to NZ in March so hoping I have something for that.

i'll be travelling again next year, hopefully all works out fine as the dates are nearer to the "18mth extension" expiry.

Theres definitely lesser issues going on in US airports, its probably the country we are departing from, which happened to me this year during Chinese New Year.

No news of my case transferring.

I have a question everyone, I believe all of you have heard about the new proposal about public charges.Trump Administration announced a proposed rule to make changes to “public charge” policies that govern how the use of public benefits such as (Medicaid, SNAP etc.) may affect individuals’ ability to enter the U.S. or adjust to legal permanent resident (LPR) status (i.e., obtain a “green card”).

Would these proposed changes affect on us, since we already filed our I-751 almost a year ago. Or by any chance affect on our nautralization process, which is almost here. Are these changes going to be retroactive?

I mean do you think we have to submit some additional forms before we finally get our Permanent Green Card?

Lots of questions I know, however I want this to be over, the waiting is painful enough I guess :).
