We flew with Korean airlines. I think they asked the green card to see if we could get it the US successfully, if someone cannot get in, they will be fined some amount of money. Don't worry too much, as long as you have extension letter and green card, you will be fine!

my husband used to worked for Korean Airlines lol. This is why I know they asked to see greencard and some staffs are unaware of what the extension is. Actually majority lol.

 

I have been receiving email from USCIS that theres no updates on my case lol.

@Roy&Chanel no updates really, still have not received a biometrics apt letter.

 

However, I did notice something odd today. I realized there is another website to check for case status: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ which I had never gone to before. On it I found this bit saying that they received my case back in December (which is when I mailed it) but then another update saying they received my case in February 2018.

 

 

Meanwhile, the other website (uscis.gov case tracker) which I had been checking continues to say the bit about my case being received at my local office on March 5, 2018.

 

Not sure what is going on here but thought some people may find it interesting!

So I didn't know about this method. So I checked it this way and mine says

"We received your case and waived the filing fee"

 

Which would be nice I guess, but they didn't waive any fees (I was not expecting them to) and they cashed my check.

Maybe this way is glitchy? I don't know...

Hello everybody.  We are December 2017 filer.  Just like most of us in here,  our case is now stuck at 'Case was received at Local Office' received since Feb 24 2018.  So far we have received the I-797 NOA with an extension for another year (up to March 2019) but no biometric letter yet.   We have bought tickets for a flight home in June to see my mother (she underwent a surgery in March) and we are not certain if we have to apply for I-131(Advance Parole/reentry permit) in this case?  Much appreciated for any advice.   Thank you.

You do not need to.  With the ROC NOA, you are an official US Permanent Resident for at least one more year from your green card expiration date. 

 

When our ROC’s are not approved in one more year, we can get the I-551 stamp in the passport to signify continued US permanent residence.

hey hey, welcome to the thread. I need a few of these information if you could provide us.

Filing location: CSC/VSC

Filing date: date that you mail out package

NOA issue date: date of NOA on the letter

NOA received: The day you received your NOA on hand

Biometrics date: Date of appointment

 

All you need for traveling is your valid passport with at least 6 months to expiration and your NOA letter, I brought 2 copies in case the airline check-in crews need them, they got to print it for their records.

The staffs didn't take my copies though, but better to have extra in case.

u dont need the stamp unless ur close to expiry in march 2019 like mine I intend to visit Msia, Bali next year around Jan.

Hello all!  My husband just renewed his driver's license with the NOA with surprisingly no issues!  The DMV employee was well aware of the process and understood the terms in which they had to follow.
