Update: just received my package back from VSC. They wanted the updated form even though they are still accepting the old form. My only thinking is that since my green card expires after the date that they'll last accept the old form that's the reason they want it on the new form??? Perhaps anyway, my package looks awful and nothing like the one I sent in.

Redoing it with the new form and sending it back. :)

How frustrating!  I hope you include a strongly worded letter with a screen shot of the clear statement that the USCIS can accept your version until February 2018!  How ridiculous!

You will always be a December 2017 filer to us, racheal&david...don't forget to post us good news when your 10 year GC is approved!  I hope to see you in the N-400 December 2018 Filers thread!!!  Cheers!

Yikes! Sorry to hear this. How is the paperwork arranged? I wonder if that's the way they actually want it... It probably makes sense to just change a form and send it back as is, without making it look pretty...

By the way, if you'd like to stay in this group, that would be great! I've seen similar things happen in other month-filers, and folks typically stay in their original group! :) We will just mark you as a resend to make it more exciting :))

Thanks! I certainly want to stay in this group...I'm a December filer at heart. On the way to FedEx this package back now and get it off my hands once again. 😂

It looks like getting the letter takes anywhere between 4-6 weeks after the NOA from other timelines.  I know when we filed AOS, our biometrics was taking a long time to arrive, so around day 42, we had to call USCIS and request for them to input a service request for us.  They updated our case within three days and it took about two months before our biometrics was finished in that stage.  I am keeping an eye again on the mail in case we hit that same snag.

If your NOA was dated Dec 11th, yours should come this week sometime.  If you don't get it by Dec 20th, then call the USCIS for a service request.  Don't get jittery yet.  Your case is just ripening up for the biometrics and you may get it any day now!  Our late biometrics didn't affect anything at all.  After we received the letter, his appointment was scheduled for less than 2 weeks later.  It's all good - don't worry yet!

I don't think you should be worried. Looks like VSC slowed down with sending biometrics appts in December...

That's weird.  I used I-751 12/23/16 N

Sent it to Vermont a few days after yours and have gotten my NOA and check cashed.

Is that the form you used?

Yup, that's the one. Like I said in my previous posts they're are supposed to accept that until mid-Feb this year which they even state in their return letter to me and ask for the most updated form to be completed. So it is very frustrating and bewildering. But who knows why they do what they do. My package will be delivered later today so hopefully they'll accept it quickly and take my money.

Hey guys, look like my NOA is on its way. I'm getting a scanned informed delivery from USPS.

Strange that the envelope is addressed to my initials instead of my full name. Does this happen to everyone else? Trust me my name is short!

Anyway, I'm still debating on whether to go ahead and book my air tickets, flying back home on 3rd Feb- end Feb or should I  just wait for biometrics appointment letter.

I googled through and found out some people got denial cos they missed the biometrics apppointment. I'm so worried right now! I'm afraid that I might not be able to get hold of the biometrics appointment letter before I leave and I really need and want to visit my family for Chinese New year :(

Anyone planning to travel before getting biometrics appt letter?

Can I reschedule without biometrics appointment letter if I don't get it by end of this month?

Negative. You are not able to reschedule without a biometrics appointment letter.

I read stories of people rescheduling their appointments after the appointment date has passed. Is there a risk involved? Sure. Stories I have read online seemed to have ended positively.

Do you work with a legal rep? If so, they should be receiving notices from the USCIS as well, and they can reschedule on your behalf.

nope, just me and my husband.

I guess I'll just wait for my biometrics till end of the month.

I don't want to risk it.

@SilverWind I guess we can't walk in and reschedule without biometrics letter.
