But if the case was transferred to local office will the same date apply?

The local office message was probably a glitch, and even if it wasn’t, I would suggest going for it anyways.  Chances are that even USCIS couldn’t answer your question.  We just need our December ‘17 team to get completed!  A service request increases the chance your case will at least get attention and approved.

So 18 months were up and my wife recently got a stamp. A week later RFE in mail. Seems like it was a good wake up call.

Weird thing they included an empty envelope for the rfe. There is no way you could fit a lot documents in it. I assume everybody mails their rfe via usps priority?

09/03/15 - AOS mailed to Chicago

10/05/15 - RFE recvd

10/07/15 - Biometrics done, RFE sent

10/13/15 - Online status changed RFE under review

10/15/15 - 2nd RFE issued and mailed

11/18/15 - RFE response sent

12/03/15 - i765 Approved

12/10/15 - EAD recvd

12/17/15 - Interview is scheduled on Jan 21

01/21/16 - Approved/Card in production

01/28/16 - GC recvd

I got an email update for my N400 this morning saying that they had scheduled my interview. My I-751 is already at my local office as well. Funny thing is I'm 8 months pregnant and my due date is in 33 days!! I told my husband a few days ago that they'll probably end up scheduling my interview super close to my due date --more as a joke, as I thought I'd be waiting longer to get scheduled, but USCIS always have poor timing.

One note though --I did contact our U.S. Senators office a few months back regarding this situation and my impending birth and they were getting in contact with USCIS, so that may have helped spurn them on....

We'll see when the interview is when the document gets uploaded. Hopefully not too close to my due date of July 30!

Not sure what is going on with CSC but today the Processing Dates are back to November 21, 2017. It was December 07, 2017 yesterday. This is very annoying. I am 59 days away from my 18 month letter expiring.

Thanks for noticing. The processing time for I751 is longer now, it was 19 months, and now they have changed it to 19.5 months. I would have 19 months on July 6th, now I have to wait another 0.5 month 🤪 Which means, if I call them, it would STILL this reply: “your case is within processing time”. 👎🏼🤮

This is SO frustrating...we'll end up having to request the I-551 stamp...

Good for you!  When did you submit your case? I submitted it on Dec 22 2017. They wouldn't make an appointment for I-551 before 30 days prior to the 18-month extension expiration date, so I'd have to wait till August to ask for it (my extension expires at the beginning of September). I have my N-400 interview in 2 weeks, maybe they'll agree to put the stamp on then...

I submitted on Dec 6, 2017. I already had N400 interview, passed, but without I751 at the local office, citizenship wasn’t approved. I called USCIS and talked to Tier 2, scheduled Infopass, because I applied for driving license and it was stopped due to immigration process. So after I got I551 stamp, I went to DMV and they approved my driving license.

it sounds like a third world country bureaucracy 🤮

Make sure you ask your IO for the stamp, if possible.  My husband's IO was willing to stamp his passport, especially since he had international travel coming up.  She then decided not to since she said she would approve his case.  The approval took another month, but his GC arrived right before his trip.  We were nervous on what would happen if he wasn't able to get the card or stamp before the trip.  So I say all that to say, you never know what could happen.  Just ask really nicely for either the stamp or the oath ceremony letter.  In light of the unfortunate events that a lot of our cohorts have had to undergo, if the IO says anything about the pending ROC in regards to your interview, let them know that on community forums, you have seen where they still needed to return to get the stamp.

You just don't want to be without proof of residency.  I know we all worked too dang hard to not have it!

Thanks, @Amhara, as usual :)

when you say "proof of residency", do you actually mean the GC or actually bringing a bill of some sort to prove that I live here? I think you mean the GC, but I'd rather ask the dumb question,  than assume. Thanks!

I had the same issue, N-400 interview done, but I-751 is not approved, so N-400 decision is pending,

I was one week away from being able to make an inquiry before they backdated the receipt date.  Just unbelievable. I'm under the impression that my file is sitting somewhere collecting dust after that name updated thingy in 2018. Mine got transferred around quite a bit: filed with CSC, then received at local office, transferred to Potomac and back to CSC...
