Opssss. That's plain annoying. Did you fill the forms in blank ink, sign the forms and fill in "N/As" or "none" where appropriate? Was the check made to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security" (spelled out in that manner) for the right amount of $680? Did you attach copies of the green card and passport?

i left the not applicable parts blank, my check got through today, so I think that one's fine?

Pretty sure its a small mistake like signature or check etc :P

But I remembered on 23rd Dec, I redownloaded the form and used the new one.

The latest form should be 30th Nov 2017 but it was uploaded around 21-23 Dec, I remembered i posted something about it in previous pages.

They should accept it since she submitted on 23rd Dec, and that is the date when new form was uploaded.

Yeah that's the only thing I can think of that they want....the updated form. Even though they are still accepting the other form. Very frustrating.

I hate to hear that!  I hope it doesn't have to do with the form version because they are supposed to be accepting the old version (the one we used) until Feb 2018!

But look at it this way (not trying to deminish your problem, just trying to bring comfort), since you are at VSC, your wait may be shorter.  I joined the January 2017 (last year's) ROC thread and out of their 35 VSC applicants, 13 have been approved.  Of their 47 CSC applicant's, only 1 has been approved.  This means that in the grand scheme of things, your 10 year may be approved in January 2019 if you can get the issue corrected and turned around quickly.

Either way, it doesn't affect when you can apply for USC!  Getting that package back is bad news, but your future is still bright, friend!  December 2018 is the real date to await!

Signature coming soon...

I hope that wasn't the case though, maybe a signature was left out.

Anyway, at least you guys can opt for Dual citizenship. I can't! I have to renew every 10 years haha!

Imagine me doing ROC for the next 4 times, if I'm still alive in 70s. LOL

I have to think really really carefully about citizenship.

Which country won’t allow dual citizenship?

I think the GC renewal is pretty easy.  You can file online with the I-90.  We were going to try for a new GC after his was issued, but abandoned that petition.  It was a nice process and makes me look forward to filing for N-400 online next December!

Here's the list of countries that do not allow Dual Citizenship.

https://www.artoncapital.com/dual-citizenship/

Great to hear that renewal of GC after 10 years is easier lol.

I haven't look into renouncing citizenship but sounds like a difficult process. I wonder if its automatically abandoned if someone from a country that do not allow dual citizenship applied for Naturalization.

The USCIS site says,

"12/05/17. Starting 02/19/2018, we will only accept the 12/05/17 edition. Until then, you can use the 12/23/16 edition. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the form and instructions."

Did both of you sign the form?  There is a place for both to sign.
