Wanted to be there for our anniversary, March 3rd. Highly doubt it at this rate. I'm really fu***ed off about it too. So many delays, people being messed about... I would LOOOOOVE to know what this fee covers. I know to be cool, calm, and wait, but this will cause a LOT of problems for me, if people don't pull their fingers out of their butts. 

Yes u r right. Im from iraq. I live in lebanon and my residence visa will expire in Feb. We dont know what I will do. We have been waiting since 189 days. I pray for all of u guys...

I have everything crossed for you. I don't think they understand how stressful this all is and how much of an impact this has on our lives. 😭

Spoke with a tier 2 person today who could not give me specifics, but did say that our case had activity on is as of Dec 4. He said that it wasn't an approval or RFE, but there was some type of activity. I have no idea what to expect at this point. If it was an approval or RFE, wouldn't I have received something in the mail by now?

oh poo....  and yet again, seems like all these cases are after june 6...  I just want to see some activity june 6th... ill take an RFE I don't even care at this point

Probably a sandwich dropped on it. I dunno. Seems like a cruddy answer to get rid of you. ☹️ How can you not know what type of activity? Surely some kind of notes have to be put on the system so the next person knows what's been done already? 🤔🤔🤔

My thoughts exactly. He only gave me that much information because I got super emotional with him.  I told him that there was congressional interest on my case and he admitted that my congress rep can get clearer answers than he could and to follow up with them. I apologized for being so upset and he apologized for the long wait. He was kind, but was no help whatsoever. 

 

So, I called my reps office and got a frickin' voicemail. I left a message yesterday so I didn't bother to leave one today.

Just a piece of comparison for those still waiting: my case took 12 days from officer assignment to approval.  Granted, this was a few weeks ago...but perhaps helpful.

 

Another tip on getting through to Tier 2: you can't ask "why is it taking so long?"  Ask something they can't give you an answer to - for me, asking if the background check had been performed was helpful.  Tier 1 doesn't have access to that information, and - actually - I'm not sure that Tier 2 does either, but it escalates your call.  I asked for a Tier 1 supervisor (they have to give you one), then asked the supervisor about the background check, then got transferred to someone who was able to pull up my case.

I agree, they have pretty specific info. I was told that 'an approval notice has been sent to the printer,' that's pretty dang specific. I don't know why they're so impersonal sometimes

I asked for specifics like that and only got answers since I kept pressing for more info. I guess it just depends on who you speak with. I asked if background checks had been done and if the case had been assigned to an adjudicator. He said yes to both but mentioned the random activity on 12/4, but there was no note about what kind of activity it was....? super weird and vague.
