I have contacted my congressman ( it was a while ago though...) who submitted an official inquiry, and also submitted request for someone at USCIS to look into my case since its outside the processing time (last month, back when Sept 1 was listed on the website in error)  and neither one produces any fruit for me..... I have no other options at this point....I will be at 190 days tomorrow....

Keep on the congressman, they should have case number. Stay on top of them about it. Inquiry on the uscis site and the customer service line in my opinion is worthless.  I did the same when they had that sept mess up. So only thing I can say is stay on top of congressman’s office. I am praying that you get your approval soon.

Such a wonderful feeling to see my fellow Nigerian peeps here holding on and encouraging one another. Be patient, it will come soon. I believe we shall have good news this week and finally be with our loved ones. I miss her so much:(

Congratulations to all approved VJ members.

Yes! I miss my Queen too, we're ready for the next steps; slightly anxious about the interview when that time comes. Not sure how the Lagos embassy is, but I know she'll do fine!

Who is your congressman?

After i wrote him we got approved the same day he contacted the uscis.

I've read that it truly depends on the congressman...    I'm in PA,  I contacted Lou Barletta...  it was months ago... and its possible it was a coincidence that you got approved same day because to my knowledge it doesn't happen that fast.. usually a week because of procedure but I could be wrong. I don't know much. lol.  I want to cry......................

My date is June 16th.  This process has been very long and very stressful. Myself and my fiance  decided I should visit anyways at the end of January .  I wasn't anticipating traveling with her  back to the US  at this time. But we realize this is not going to happen .  So I have decided to go anyways and enjoy my time with her and her family.  I was so hoping I could travel back to the US with her.  Not to be.  I am happy for all their approval people that can start the next process of this phase of your Journeys. I look forward to being part of those people by the week's end .  Maybe it's a good thing it happened this way so I don't have to bring Rose my fiance  in to Michigan in the middle of February.  Not only would it might be a culture shock but it definitely would be a weather shock. Really not sure why it takes a year to have all this transpire  doesn't make much sense. I am sure the people reviewing our files  are under a lot of stress and are overworked like most people in the US .  So I look forward to my day  hopefully soon and maybe it'll be better for us in the long run to bring Rose back here in June when the weather is spectacular .  So get in my hats off to all you that I've been approved  looking forward to my day  that I can tell my class or myself  God bless  have a good day.  May the approvals snow down on all of us

My fiancee lives in Georgia and when they had those huge tropical storms and hurricanes and things, he tells me "Its ok", and I look on maps and its like right on top of him... So you're not crazy, I do it too, but I have learned to just trust him.

Whether I handle it so well when its me standing in the eye of the storm, I will worry about it then, but he's definitely used to it, so I'm sure fires in CA are the same kinda thing.

What a lot of people who have never been to the US, don't realize how truly big it is. I live in Michigan, I can drive for 10 hours on the highway from one end to the other going 70 mph and never leave my stateof

Unfortunitly not we got a RFE on Nov 7th for evidence of intent to marry even though they already had copies of oyr deposits from our wedding ceremony. We sent though he RFE back on 9th Nov and we still have yet to recieve a reply.  My fiance has rang and though he hey say that 6 weeks is the waiting time t hear back. Yet people who have had RFE after our date have had theit NOA2 through already. It's like a lottery.

I'm so frustrated with the whole process I have left my job and only get paid until January I had to give 1 years notice to leave so this is adding to our stress. My fiance is also deploy g in April so we have tried to expedite our case but that got denied so currently I have 4 months to move to the USA or I have no idea what our next process will be.

Sorry for the long post and rant

I just got off the phone with my congressman's office. They don't take cases about USCIS and recommended that I just make a field appointment since I am so close to the Dallas office.

He said that their backlog is a major talking point in our state (Texas) and that there's not much they can do to put their thumb on USCIS because they're mostly fee driven (groan, we know this already).

He did say that it's sometimes more effective to try to make a face to face appointment because they're face to face with you and can't avoid as many as your questions as a phone rep can.

I don't really want to go to Dallas, and I'm a July filer, but I hope that this information is helpful to even one person. Damn you, Marchant. Your office worker was nice, though!

oh my good Lord.. why in the world do we see so many military expedites but yours wasn't accepted... and your right , must RFEs relatively speaking get processed pretty quickly after receiving the information requested......And we are having a wedding that does not cost any money whatsoever- its going to be in my home with a friend who is ordained to marry... so they better not try to pull that on me... I'm  just going to keep praying and believing the best.   if I could give you a place to stay, I would.  or any way that I could help, I would do so.  know that.

I have no idea I am military too but from the UK and I am on Facebook groups who have gone through the same process and theirs have all gone through quickly being military it's so frustrating.

That is all you can do as long as your wedding is legal they cannot use that against you just be sure to take credentials of your friend with you to you're interview incase they ask. Good luck I hope yours come sooner than what we have waited already
