I think the train would be easier on my nerves, for sure. Especially if it's snowing heavily. They run daily and they're cheap. For me, I think it's the best bet.

I was thinking to go a day earlier too. Just splurge for a hotel room and try to make a mini-vacay out of it.  Although I know I won't feel very holiday-ish until it's over and I know I'm approved and heading south shortly after.

I'm taking a cab from the train station to the hotel, wherever that may be. I'll try to find a close one. There are lots of reviews online from other K1 people about hotels close to the embassy.

Oh the Big Apple LOL! I've never been, but I hear good things about their pies. :)

Wow. You have a plan in place and everything!

That's awesome.

The Big Apple has such GOOD pies. SOOOOO GOOODDDDD

I will be coming from Toronto so I might fly (Porter?). I've never considered the train, but now I am thinking about that too. :) Do you know what days Montreal usually schedule their K1 interviews?

No, I'm not sure what days they schedule. I think, from what I've heard, that you get to choose from their available dates once you get your case number from the NVC

I took the train once, long ago, and really enjoyed it. I've driven to Montreal a couple times, and it was, just, you know...meh.  I've driven many miles on Ontario roads, up to Timmins and other points north. Taking the 401 to Montreal is really just...underwhelming, heh. Especially if it's snowing.

Flying would be okay except for the whole airport thing. I love flying, but airports...? No. :P

Warm apple pie with some ice cream by the fire place.

So cliche, but comfort food makes you feel so warm.
