Okay family... now what?

ive lost my mind a bit and have no clue where to go from here.

is there a way to track my case from USCIS to NVC?

Do I just start calling NVC in a few weeks.

Can my fiancé set up his medical and interview and just cancel a week prior and reschedule if the UK embassy doesn’t have his stuff yet.

sorry all, I’m going a bit mad at the moment🤪

In Canada, I don't think you can get a medical appointment until you have your NVC.

I could be wrong.

There are message boards that can answer the question better, but from what I have read you need the NVC number.  Usually in the past you could call the NVC and see if the received your papers within two weeks,  and sometimes if it has been assigned they can give your number and you can then file medical and other things from there.  But with delays it may be a little longer.   As with most of these forms I read through pages of stuff and forget to bookmark (or book mark too many and then have to clean up) going doh after erasing things the week before saying to myself I should have kept that.

is there a way to track my case from USCIS to NVC? - no way to currently track going from USCIS to NVC.

Do I just start calling NVC in a few weeks. - you can start calling after 2 weeks, although, NVC appears to be backlogged and people are waiting 5-6 weeks to get a case #.

Can my fiancé set up his medical and interview and just cancel a week prior and reschedule if the UK embassy doesn’t have his stuff yet. -  you cannot schedule your medical/interview without filling out the DS-160  and printing the confirmation page and you cannot filled out, sign, and print the confirmation page of the DS-160 until you get your case# from the NVC which is needed in order to go any further

sorry all, I’m going a bit mad at the moment🤪

The most you can start doing is preparing and filling out the DS-160 BUT DO NOT E-SIGN and print confirmation page until AFTER you get your case#.

The USC can start filling out the I-134 and getting all financial supporting docs in order.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

Hey Darl!

You will need the LND number from the NVC before you can book the medical.

Start calling NVC in a couple of weeks.

Once medical is booked then book the interview for 7 days after his medical appointment date.

Then complete the DS-160 and submit.

In the meantime, get his paperwork together - his police certificate (does he need a separate UK military one??).

And you will need to complete the I-134 Affidavit of Support with your 2016 W2 tax return for him to take to the interview.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

Ugh, yeah that is part of why my fiancé has been afraid to visit again since we submitted our petition, because he wasn't sure if he had enough to prove reason for him to return to Sweden. He's a chef, so he will be starting over totally new also; doesn't have a company he can transfer through or anything. That part probably sucks the most. I wish I could give him a job as soon as he gets here, because not working is already weighing heavily on him and he isn't even here yet, lol.

Good luck to you and I hope your entry for your trip goes smoothly!! Perhaps the officer that day will be in a good mood :)

Haha I totally understand how your fiancé is feeling! Not working from now on until potentially June time is causing major anxiety right now!

Thank you! And you also! I'm hoping for good news or us all before Christmas!

That's all they said?

Well your case is still within the normal processing time. Average response to cases are 6-7 months but it could take longer depending on the case.

At this point I am wondering if I will see my case first on a scan here, from the USCIS webpage, or in my mailbox.
really hope for approval but would settle for RFE as long as approval comes eventually.
It will come my Fiancee keeps reassuring me that.
