@Naes

It was a 6-minute video where CTV interviewed Nan Berezowski - Immigration Lawyer in CTV's Morning News yesterday.

I am just going to paraphrase some of the points that relate to us K1 filers.

Reasons for delay:

Legal and Regulatory changes - but more so than that there have been changes in the policies, and changes in the interpretation (of those policies). adjudicators are under a lot of pressure from top down adjudicators are receiving policies and directives and these policies are giving them guidelines on how to adjudicate but these new policies are more restrictive/narrower than it used to be. The list of questions has not changed but the people (adjudicators ) have not been asking all the questions before (but now they are required to do so) It may also be possible that the new policy has more questions added.

Who are mostly affected with this (change) - In terms of Canadians - the biggest change we see is that of  NAFTA - Mr. Trump is good to his threat to rip it (NAFTA)  up. Canadians are seeing a slow erosion of the benefits we used to enjoy - this is due to a more restrictive interpretation of the law/treaty/policy.  They are also now looking at the applicant's country of origin, not just their (Canadian) Citizenship. It is important to know that as Canadians, none of us is immune from the "cold shoulder" Mr. Trump. Processing is going to be slow, T's are crossed 3 times, I's are dotted 3 times... they look at minute details (i.e. was the signature done in Ink or was it electronic signature, etc.)

From what I can deduce from this, it is not the adjudicators' fault.  It is not that they are working slow, or there is less adjudicators now. They have been given stricter orders and they are under scrutiny by the new government.

sorry for the changing fonts... my sweet fur baby keeps nudging my hand to give her a rub :)

Thank you for sharing! I see you got an RFE? Anything exciting? We are 6/22 and still waiting for something...anything!

June 23-ers here, still waiting for NOA2, I was wondering: My fiance planned to make a trip to my country and plan the traditional engagement party there before coming back to US. My question is, can my fiance make the trip as soon as the NOA2 arrived, or have to wait for NVC thing to happen first? Thanks.

Alright guys I’m having a panic attack over here. I still haven’t gotten my noa2 and I’ve just been checking the mailbox but then today I decided to check the uscis app and got this weird alert. What does this mean? Did they restart our application process? Or did I miss something in the mail?

There's nothing weird about it.

when you put a case new, it always shows same alert. It has the same one with mine. And I'm nowhere near adjudication.

also always check the uscis website that app just takes its info from there, doesn't have any kind of different info.

Hi,

I tried yesterday to ask USCIS Tier 2 to transfer my case to NVC .

He asked me certain question :

Name ,DOB,Address for myself and my fiance. At first he gave me hard time and said he can get in trouble doing so we have to wait 6 weeks and blah blah .

I really bed him to do as we waited more then 7 month for approval from USCIS.He said he will do it for us .

Then he wrote transfer case to NVC and he said he submitted it to USCIS (M not sure if it goes electronically or in the mail)

And in the end he gave me  REF Id starting with like  WKD************LNY .Did anyone experience same thing when tried transferring the case to NVC ?

Did they gave you ref id like this ?

As i want to be sure if he really transferred my case.

Timeline for us ----

Thanks

I am confused by your post. He gave you a NVC number and your case has not yet been sent to NVC? How is that possible? USCIS do not give NVC number, NVC gives NVC numbers. We are Dec 13 NOA2, if it is as easy as begging then I think we should all do that.

I am not sure what’s confusing you like I mention above spoke to tier 2 USCIS about transferring my approval to NVC currently which take 6 weeks I am trying to ask USCIS if they can do it right away rather than waiting

I think @MarksMate thought the reference id was NVC case number.

The number they gave you, what number was that? Why was your case special that it can get transferred after 1 week and the rest of us has to wait 6+ weeks, please tell us what you said. I am losing my mind here waiting.
