@KBA @Lisa & Jorge

I hope I'm tagging the right people about this, cause I couldn't find the posts.

When the address change is for the beneficiary, you don't need to update while it is in the USCIS.

You signed the petition at a date, and the information was correct for that date (if there was a mistake though that's different)

They don't usually send anything to the beneficiary by mail, so check around to see if your embassy sends anything.

You can update the info when it leaves NVC by calling or mailing your embassy, (beneficiary can do this too with the case number received from NVC and informing the embassy)

ok cool, that makes sense... I wasn't sure if bene was sent anything from USCIS.. I drafted a letter to send USCIS informing them of my fiancé's address change, but if its not necessary I'm not sending it. we will wait until our case is with NVC, and I will have Jorge call his embassy in Rio to update the info. thanks for all your help @Naes

I'm going to do the same thing (we thought so naively back then I would have my passport back before I move on March 9 :lol:)

And this is what I figured out after checking all over VJ, happy to help :)

@MarksMate @MM&CS

I literally JUST had a lamb-based discussion my fiancé last night...he was telling me how much he was gonna miss leg of lamb and I had to be like "you know we still have that, right...?" I'm a vegetarian myself but I know it won't be too hard to hunt down lots of good meat! I live in Minneapolis so we've got tons of good butchers and farmers who sell here.

And I'm the American!  Have lived in NZ for a few stints of our 3-year relationship :)

Congrats to the ones who got approved!! :jest: to the one who are still waiting, hang in there and it'll be our time soon!

Anyways, my bf is moving back to his mom's house in Feb and I suggested him to update the address on Dec 24, on Dec 27 we received an email notification that the address has been updated on the system. AND!! his mom received a letter from USCIS on Jan 3!?

can anyone who has updated the address on their system tell me if that's just a letter confirmation for updating the address? or could it be the NOA2!?!?!?!?! on the website it still states our case is received... Jun 22 here :D !!!

My bf isnt flying back to his mom til Feb 3 and this unknown letter is killing me here...

My fiancee changed the address too and he didnt get any letter, so I don't think it has to do with that. Normally you get notified by email that the address has been updated. Good luck, hopefully it's your noa2. 😊

Can’t his mum or a family member open it? I wouldn’t be able to wait. It could also be an RFE

How exciting!!!

I wish I had not told anyone apart from his mother and mine. Now everyone keeps asking “when’s the wedding” or “when are you moving”

i wish I bloody knew! Day 210 and counting. :(

I'm still waiting for the birthday boy to wake up.

He came back from Hawaii past midnight and he's still snoozing until now. He woke for a few minutes to thank me for my birthday greetings, then he said "Hon, for my birthday I am going to get some more sleep ok." :D
