My fiance was here in NZ last March too! And where is the lamb in the supermarket?!? We are gonna miss the lamb!!! I found a farm close to Chicago that you can purchase lamb but you gotta buy the whole lamb and we only 2 people so if Pri wants to share a lamb let us know!! We could all meet in Springfield!

Also side question for those who might know... is USCIS and NVC closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr day?

I’m moving to a Chicago. Where is this farm located?

I just told her we might be able to still have lamb and she just made the most adorable excited noises 😂😂😂 I think we're probably gonna have to split a lamb to keep our kiwi spouses properly fed, yea? 😋

MLK Jr day is a federal holiday, so I'm going to guess they're closed, yea. 😩 this is the first year I've NOT enjoyed close holidays, but can we just get into the holiday drought already? 😋

I hope you get your noa2 soon! You've been waiting for aaaaaaaages then there is a long wait at NVC too.

I am the kiwi spouse haha. I am always confused about who is the one on the forums. I still don't know who is the one in NZ and who is the account of @mysticdolphin95 haha. My American lurkes on my posts! He has way more patience for this process than I do.

Lol I just realized that rereading the last post 😂 I wonder if we ran across one another in the 😂l airport 😂

Pri has loads more patience then me, but this whole waiting and being apart thing is really dragging on her. She just asks for updates on how everyone in the forum's doing. I'm the one that likes to research everything online and she's the one that goes 'its the government... We'll see it when we see it, and there's no point in stressing over it till then...' I just hope we get moving on this stuff before the police records she got from the Japanese consulate for her exchange student thing need to be redone...

I feel bad groaning about how long I've been waiting what with people like John add Rose, and the mat and April filers, but there's times where the rugby player I sat next to on my flight back up to Auckland seemed to have the right idea... Why did I get on that plane? Why didn't I stay? Logically? Cause kiwilandia doesn't have any need for my skills so I can't get a work visa lol. But when she had a bad allergic reaction last night to surprise mushrooms in her food and had to get herself home, and I could do was sit on Instagram and wait for her to message me that she was home safe... That was one of those 'wish I'd just stayed' moments!

I've got my fingers crossed for you to get through to the next step in the process soon! Bring ALL THE KIWIS TO ILLINOIS! 😂

Hi all! Dutch filer here. We got approved NOA 2 on Dec 1st and are currently entering the 6th week of waiting to hear anything of NVC. We called them last week and they had not received our case yet. They mentioned to at least wait 6 weeks before calling them to see if they received it. How long does it usually take for them to receive it? and Once they receive it, how long until I'll receive my package over here? :D  Thanking you in advance.

The average wait for NVC right now is around 50-60 days. Our NOA2 was December 1st also :) I plan to start trying to contact folks once February rolls around. We expect it to be then before we hear anything anyway.

Håll ut, y'all.

I’m moving to a Chicago. Where is this farm located?

They are called Slagel Family Farm. They have delivery days in Chicago, the farm is located in Fairbury, IL.

Whole lambs under 35lbs are $8.99lb.  40lbs+ are $6.99lb and 45+ are $7.99lb. I saw they now stock Legs of lamb and Lamb chops too which are pricey imo, $17.50lb would rather buy a whole one and freeze it cause it saves you in the long run. The lamb is organic which is always a win.

Could they have hired independent contractors to help get caught up?  And would those petitions be the approvals that aren't getting updated online?  Also, I was thinking maybe the time from csc to nvc may speed up since it's after the new year and maybe there is no reason to hold them so long anymore for the 2017 uscis statistics...  Only hoping...

It didn't have a meaning back then either. 2018 fiscal year started in October 2017. It is just a new quarter (quarter 2) not a new year for them.

I don't think approval updates have anything to do with if they hired independent contractors (is this possible btw? I don't even know) and well do they really care about catching up is the question I would like to ask if I ever call them. Not that they have a backlog, we understand that. But are they thinking of catching up or should we think our process with these new timelines?

Thanks for the information.

I don’t eat meat often, but when I do I like it to be good quality.

Its scary how there is so much food in America that are able to put certain things in foods knowing the dangers.

But trying the phone is not a bad idea some even learnt they got approved on the phone.

Is there a trick to this when calling USCIS to try and get some information?  I called and spoke to an agent who read word for word off a checklist and gave me absolutely no information.  He of course referred to their website which says June 1st so my case is within normal processing times.  I knew he wouldn't budge so I did not press him for information.  I did sign up for USPS Informed Delivery yesterday, so thank you to everyone on here for the good information.  Anything we can do to try and give us the illusion that we have some sense of control over this process helps us from going crazy.  Or at least me anyway....

We are very close on our NOA1 dates Dedk22, we are June 30th.  I just returned from Brazil a week and a half ago, always so hard to leave without knowing when the next time you will see each other is.  I believe we will both have our NOA2s by the end of next week.  Positivity matters... the law of attraction is the only law that we don't have to wait on USCIS to follow or approve!  Best of luck to you.  As long as we have waited, imagine how those August - November filers feel.  They are on the back end of this huge back log even more than we are and could face longer wait times than we have.
