@John & Rose If you don't mind me asking, what places did you visit when you were here?

I am staring at my computer and just Googling stuff about what we can do.

It's embarrassing but oh gosh I'm like a tourist in my own country. A week vacation just isn't enough to plan an out of town trip and really enjoy it.

Intramuros is nice.  Take a horse drawn carriage.  We also went to Corrigidor Island.  That was very nice.  We stayed in Ermita and traveled day trips from there.  Also check out the American Cemetery, and Venice!  Mall of Asia is nice too.

Can someone help as I have had notification on informed delivery but says it’s a package and not a letter but my fiancé hasn’t ordered anything. Could this be it

Didn't Informed Delivery have a scan of the package?  Everything delivered to me has a picture in the email.

Ya im like you, three plane tikets, 3 AOS to file. As much as i want to be there for the interview, that wont happen. But i am going to go and flyback with her for sure. I was told by nvc they expect my noa2 to be receive between today and the 20th. Then up to 2 weeks for processing (rediculous). But i’m still figuring with fingers crossed march will be our month for poe.

But my week this week so far has been just crazy full of emotions. Tears coming out of no where. The type only her hug could take away. But i know every day that passes is one day close to her in my arms and our family together.

Wow do I get that!  Sounds like we are both in the same boat.  Call NVC everyday.  Once they assign a number, schedule the interview!  Make sure it is a couple weeks out so the package has time to get to Manila.  I truly believe that you can make it back here by February.  I am hoping for you because we all need one good success story to keep us going!  I hope that story is yours.

Thanks! We’ll try to go around Intramuros.

We went to the National Museum which was really cool! I’m thinking of booking a tour in Malacañang Palace too. Our place was within Mall of Asia.

I hear there is a restaurant in Venice that has the best Rueben sandwiches.  We didn't have a chance on the last visit but that may be a good diversion from sisig, sweet spaghetti and Jolibee!

You're right 1 week is not that much, but it's still possible to squeeze in an out of town trip.

You may want to check out the beaches around the Laiya, Batangas area. There are lots of nice beach resorts there. Laiya is more private than the Nasugbu area and it's just a 4-hour drive from Manila.

If you're not the beach-goer type, you can take a day tour of the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. It's a nice place to take your fiancé to get him acquainted to the Filipino heritage. Also another nice historic place to go to is Corregidor. Bataan is also a 4-hour drive from Manila.

I am a history buff and love WWII.  Corregidor was awesome.  We also spent some time following the Bataan Death March.  There are monuments on the path.

Right. Bataan is nice and rich in history, but the tunnel in Corregidor is a little creepy. I got goosebumps walking through that tunnel. :o

Last year I went to Vietnam.  The Cu Chi tunnels gave me goosebumps.  The Corregidor tunnel was darn HOT.  When they close the doors for the presentations and the wind stops it is NOT comfortable in there.  I would have been happy just walking through rather than having to try to see the stuff in each of the side tunnels.  The view from many areas of the island was breathtaking!

If there was only a way to get that hug.  I know exactly what you mean.  Just for 1 minute to hold each other to recharge my batteries.  Where is that darn transporter from Star Trek!

YES.

I tell people around me all the time that the absolute worst part of this whole thing is just being apart from Paul. I just miss him - plain and simple. I wish I could hug him or just look him in the face (in person, not on a screen). He tells me all the time that we have quite a ways to go till the finish line, even after he gets here (AOS and whatnot), but I remind him that at least at that point, we will be dealing with this and facing it TOGETHER, side by side in person. Not separated by an entire ocean and 6 hour time difference. Which I'm getting so sick of. :ranting:

Håll ut, y'all.

The Hotel we stay at is in the Manila Ocean Park.  I really love that place.  There are cheaper places around but the Ocean Park along with the restaurants makes it a perfect spot to stay.

Yes he can. Tony drove my car when we went to Tagaytay. We had breakfast at the Bag of Beans, then went to Tagaytay Highlands to check out homes, then had snacks at the Taal Vista Hotel.

Here's from LTO: "Driving in the Philippines with a Foreign License. Foreigners who hold a valid driver's license issued by the road authority of their home country can drive here in the Philippines for up to 90 days after their arrival provided that their license is in English."
