I have been in contact with my congressman.

A woman working for my congressman in immigration affairs offered to help us. I write her an Email back today. Thoughts? Too passionate? Am I going to far? I want to see change.

And yes I write for Tyler he is not the best with words which is funny considering I’m a foreigner and he is American.

Anyways. Please share your thoughts.

Dear Ms Katie Malone,

Thank you for your response. I would like to thank you and take you up on your offer on following up on our case on behalf on my benefiary Lana *********
I am delighted to read that you offered to send a letter of support to the Frankfurt US consulate prior to my fiancées Interview. It would mean a great deal indeed, if you could do that on our behalf.

I do have some questions for you. I have been in contact with the USCIS and NVC on multiple occasions trying to find out why the USCIS is holding on to approved petitions. I do not see a reason to hold them for 6-8 weeks just to send them to the NVC. Not including the time the NVC will process the application. Or the time the application takes from NVC to the consulate and finally the interview.
We got approved on December 11th. The approval is valid for 4 months and expires thereafter.
It is unsettling to know that we will most likely exceed this validity timeline due to backups at the government institutions, which is by no means our fault.
But we are the ones suffering under current conditions.

The uscis is extremely rude and does not give any Information at all about any subject. In fact, it seems to be standard language to give out false statement to petitioners calling over the phone.
Maybe you helping us will give us a voice in this matter, which we are thankful for.

There needs to be an understanding that our petition is not just a number, but two people with lives, problems and emotions.
The process used to not only be shorter, but cheaper and with less hurdles to overcome.

While I understand that we live under current anti-immigration administration, I wouldn’t have thought what a huge negative impact this process has on our lives and how disrespectful we are being treated by the listed Government institutions.
After all, I am a proud tax-paying US citizen that just wants to marry the women he loves.

We are very thankful for your help. I hope this process will be made easier on US- and foreign citizens in the future.
I don’t mean to be rude, I am just very passionate about this as this is consuming our lives.

Please keep following our case and please do send that letter of support to the Frankfurt consulate prior to my fiancées interview.

Many thanks

Tyler *******

He needs to find out who his congressman is. We live in Maryland and ours is Elijah Cummings. Katie Malone handles immigration related affairs for him. She offered to help us.

He just needs to go to go online and google who the congressman of his state is and send him or her a letter

I finally went that route.  I called and faxed and emailed my Congressman, Mike Quigley.  They even have a spot on their site to help deal with Government Agencies.

That’s good.

I hope government will help us. I am praying for you and rose. This is getting ridiculous and I can see how it’s becoming very hard on you. I will send some strengh your way.

There are good days and bad days.  I am not as strong as she is.  Last night as we were talking about another year of school for Aira and AJ in the Philippines she was starting to show some of the strain.  I was able to be strong for her but it is getting harder.  We will both rebuild our walls and be back waiting with positive vibes.

I can't help but feel like we are being punished/tested for falling in love with our fiances.

These days, how easy is it to navigate the world, both physically and online? So they have to expect people of different nationalities to meet and want marry each other. It feels like it should be a basic human right to be able to do so without such hardship. I understand there needs to be a vetting process but keeping people in the dark for this amount of time is pure cruelty. When we signed up for this process we knew the time frame involved (or at least we knew what others had experienced). Whilst it seemed like a hurdle we never imagined it would drag on for this long.

@SM2017 mentioned earlier that they are nervous about seeing their fiance after such a long time. I feel exactly the same. My heart has never stopped loving Savannah but something in my head has forgotten how it is to physically be around her. Nobody has the right to make me feel that way.

I've decided I'm not going to simply wait anymore. I'm not going to live, constantly waiting for approval that should have come a month ago and may not be for months to come. I'm jacking my job in and will just visit America for 3 months at a time until this is all over. Sure, it may delay the whole process with me not being in England. I dont care. Honestly I'd rather feel like I'm in some way in charge of my life rather than some uncommunicative government agency on a go slow.

Are you actually going to quit and just move over there?

Had you called before NOA2 aswell? I notice that came Incredibly quickly relative to everyone else. You are the first person from June that ive seen who has a normal(ish) looking timeline, its inspiring

I called for an expedite request at the beginning of my wait but never again after that. I definitely feel extremely fortunate that things have happened so quickly. I didn't have anything ready and suddenly was given an interview date only a month ahead!

I am indeed. The way I look at it is I wasn't planning on being at work this long. I expected POE around christmas/new year. So every day I work now is a bonus. Savannah is coming to England this weekend for the week which will give us a boost and then I'll quit my job end of February and go to America.. Obviously we will have to live on a shoe string but after travelling the world we are pretty used to that.  I'm hoping that after a couple months I will return to find things have moved on with the visa process and we can actually start doing something useful with this horrible time apart. Like I said before, I refuse to play their waiting game with no results.
