One question I've never asked and am wondering about... When do they actually ask for proof of the petitioners income to meet income requirements? Savannah recently got let go from one of her jobs so now she just about meets the requirements. Anyone know more on this?

Interview and then AOS. You take them with I-134 as the evidence to the affidavit of support.

I just realized on my petition for Brasil, I indicated the embassy as Sao Paulo...at the time, i did not k ow it was Rio that handled the K1.

Does anyone know if I have to call to get this corrected, petition is approved, still early in trip to NVC?...Will NVC know to send to Rio....or might it get sent to SP and slide down a rabbit hole?

I did the same. I put in the The Hague as that's where the embassy is, but after filing I found out that only the consulate in Amsterdam processes visa's.

I've been assured by other members here that they will automatically send it to the embassy/consulate that handles visa's. So, no need to worry.

...."clearly establishes HER INTENT, to marry".......

not a joint statement.

I, HER NAME , do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry , HIS NAME and intend to do so within 90 days if I am granted entry into the United States of America, using the K-1 VISA he has petitioned for on our behalf.

^^^ That's almost verbatim the sentence I used in our letter of intent to marry. I did a lot of research on proper formatting and wording for this type of letter before sending it, and we had no problems or RFEs with ours. We did do one letter of intent to marry, with a separate statement for both of us worded similarly but applicably to each of us. And then we both signed (wet signature). I sent him the letter via email, he signed, snail mailed to me, and I included it in our I-129 packet. I also kept copies.

Håll ut, y'all.

Day 218.  VJ timeline moves to December 22nd....That is all

It is getting tougher to stay very positive.  We are doing our best but last night we had to discuss if we should pay the kids tuition for next school year.  They start in June and there is a very good chance that they will not be here by then.  So not only do I need to figure out if I will visit now, visit for the interview and trip home or pay their tuition for the next school year.  It is due in June and it is a one time payment.

This has been such a roller coaster.  We started out believing we would be together for Christmas.  Then we worried about the kids finishing the school year in March.  Now I'm worried about their next school year.  I honestly do not see this ever happening.  It is January 10 and we have seen 5 or 6 mail only approvals.  There are 2200 June filers still waiting.  I believe it will be quicker to stop now and do a CR-1.  NOA2s for the CR-1 per the  Facebook group was only 3 months.  There are people there who were at POE with green card (and more money in their pocket) in under 10 months.  We are lucky if we are at POE in under a year and we also get to pay at least an extra $1000 for the privilege of being delayed.

Thanks, I needed that.  Now lets get this thing moving again.  Good luck to all of us.

I think you should be fine, we were also confused about this part and one of the lawyers we inquired to about this simply said that they'd send it where ever they handle K1 visas, doesn't really matter what you put. I think we put the city closest to my fiance (Winnipeg), knowing that they'd likely end up sending it to Montreal, where we've been told K1s are handled

But for peace of mind, might wanna give them a call

I have been in contact with my congressman.

A woman working for my congressman in immigration affairs offered to help us. I write her an Email back today. Thoughts? Too passionate? Am I going to far? I want to see change.

And yes I write for Tyler he is not the best with words which is funny considering I’m a foreigner and he is American.

Anyways. Please share your thoughts.

Dear Ms Katie Malone,

Thank you for your response. I would like to thank you and take you up on your offer on following up on our case on behalf on my benefiary Lana *********
I am delighted to read that you offered to send a letter of support to the Frankfurt US consulate prior to my fiancées Interview. It would mean a great deal indeed, if you could do that on our behalf.

I do have some questions for you. I have been in contact with the USCIS and NVC on multiple occasions trying to find out why the USCIS is holding on to approved petitions. I do not see a reason to hold them for 6-8 weeks just to send them to the NVC. Not including the time the NVC will process the application. Or the time the application takes from NVC to the consulate and finally the interview.
We got approved on December 11th. The approval is valid for 4 months and expires thereafter.
It is unsettling to know that we will most likely exceed this validity timeline due to backups at the government institutions, which is by no means our fault.
But we are the ones suffering under current conditions.

The uscis is extremely rude and does not give any Information at all about any subject. In fact, it seems to be standard language to give out false statement to petitioners calling over the phone.
Maybe you helping us will give us a voice in this matter, which we are thankful for.

There needs to be an understanding that our petition is not just a number, but two people with lives, problems and emotions.
The process used to not only be shorter, but cheaper and with less hurdles to overcome.

While I understand that we live under current anti-immigration administration, I wouldn’t have thought what a huge negative impact this process has on our lives and how disrespectful we are being treated by the listed Government institutions.
After all, I am a proud tax-paying US citizen that just wants to marry the women he loves.

We are very thankful for your help. I hope this process will be made easier on US- and foreign citizens in the future.
I don’t mean to be rude, I am just very passionate about this as this is consuming our lives.

Please keep following our case and please do send that letter of support to the Frankfurt consulate prior to my fiancées interview.

Many thanks

Tyler *******
