This is what I dont understand or comprehend....  'Still working'???

I agree with you on this one man... the file has been approved... it used to be at NVC within a week after that, mostly 2-3 days.... so what further work can there possibly be after approval?!

Ridiculous!

That's what I really want to know. It's obvious some major change was implemented and they're adamant in not telling us what it is, which makes me wonder.

@useful89, I looked at your timeline - would you mind telling me how you got your NOA2 to NVC in 2 weeks?
because many people are taking at least a month!

I called a tier 2 just trying to find out WHY it takes so long, I knew something had changed and was trying to get the info out of him. He eventually asked if I wanted him to put in a request to have it sent immediately. I said well I don't feel comfortable with that because it's just been a week and there are those who've waited for 6-7. He said it doesn't affect them and it's my choice, I thought he was just trying to appear like he was helping me without actually being able to do anything, but I said okay what the heck why not. I guess it worked.

Ahh
Thank you!

My guess is their doing newly-required background checks or just holding the petitions to make it look like they admitted less immigrants on a family-based visa. My money is on the former.

This is also what I'm thinking.

they are also updating less so people won't confront them about which dates they are processing...

Nope.  The visa is approved. How can they be doing newly-required background checks if the case is approved.  I can't say this enough... When a VISA is approved, there is nothing more to be done to it.  So... yeah.

The latter is much more likely to make their numbers look like they reduced in the first year of the Trump administration, which would benefit and be able to measure that against one of their big campaign subjects of lessening immigration.
