Guys roughly how long is a straightforward  RFE holding things up? My petitioner forgot to tick the box saying she wasn’t a criminal lol

That's something I would do LOL

YOu might get the approval first before me LOL

I'm not holding my breath!! They don't exactly approve people in any form of order... I saw that some people with July and even August NOA1 dates got approval already . Best of luck to you my friend!

interesting, let us know what you find out. I think its odd. but I don't know much since I haven't gotten NOA2 yet ...

Tier 1 indicated that even though it says that it goes directly to consulate it actually goes to NVC first. Hmm.. I remain skeptical, am going to call again and try to get to a Tier II.

Any other NOA2 Approvals - does the language look similar? The back of the notice seems to indicate that if it went to NVC it should say it went to NVC

I think you will be very happy with that decision.  I couldn't imagine adding the stress of a wedding on top of waiting for NOA2.  We are also going that route.  A small courthouse wedding with just a few friends and family then a big reception later when we actually have time to arrange everything.

I'm relieved for sure! But emotions ran high during our call last night as he still wanted to stick to the date. However, he isn't the one who has been keeping up with VJ data. I've been telling him constantly about the USCIS and NVC slow downs. Had to stand my ground to cancel, but he finally agreed. All good.

Considering we're stuck in the last June 5th bunch of 35, there really is no way of knowing when this NOA2 thing will come.

I feel bad for you June 6th filers. Come on California, we're waiting here!

Hi Junies -

I got my NOA2 in the mail today and am confused - please help. Applied June 6th and was approved on Jan 4th.

The approval reads - "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. .. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

So - my case skipped the NVC? I thought the process was USCIS > NVC > Consulate. Its exciting that it's going straight to the consulate but I just want to make sure I interpreted it correctly.

Also, it does not indicate listed consulate. On the I-129F I had listed New Delhi, India so I am assuming that's where they sent it.

Also calling USCIS to confirm all this but wanted to check with the group here as some of you may be in the same boat as I am :)

Thanks!

Vyom

If you go back a couple pages, there's a post from another filer who had the same issue. I've seen various posts about it before.

They made a mistake, it will still have to go through NVC.

No clue as to why this keeps happening.......

It's not a mistake it's just they have two ways of 'standard language' now for this. Mine said the same thing but it went to NVC anyway.

All RFEs? I'm guessing straight approvals are just going straight to mail with no updates online.

Well, that's all we can hope for, I figure that they think if they don't up date NOA2's on line people can't see that they have been passed over and won't be on the phone all the time, after all, with out the internet we wouldn't have any idea what they are doing!

Right! Figured that, but then it's still incorrect info that confuses people!
