are you factoring the time for a possible RFE ?  I don't mean to be a downer... but even with RFE, you could still have NOA2 by feb 1. if you get RFE this week and send overnight ... still very possible for 2/1 NOA2.. not that I'm wishing for you to get and RFE, I see you getting NOA2 before 2/1 without RFE... <3

I just figure 3 more weeks of waiting before they look at my file.  I have become a bit pessimistic about some things.  According to Tier II I haven't even been assigned yet so that puts me to next week at the earliest.  Approvals usually happen 5 to 10 days after the petition is assigned.

I would love an RFE.  That means that someone looked at the petition and it was assigned.  I alway hope the Tier II was not correct.

Seeing ppl with June 6th still waiting on NOA1 make me sad with my June 27th. All the planning done has been smoked thanks to the increasing delay.

Actually, June 27 seems to have a better chance of approval right now.  Late June has rocked the approvals.  June 22, 27 and 30 all have had approvals.  There is no real order it seems.  Late June has faster adjudicators.

You can't really judge from RFEs.  The oldest RFE for a June 6 filer is dated August 4 according to my scans.

It is at that time where I lose it. I was already considering a 1-man protest in front of the CSC, I looked up flights. :ranting:

I would not be surprised if it is already assigned. Seems crazy that it would not be.

If I do a very best case scenario...

NOA2 approval today (January 8).  50 days to send the file to NVC (February 27).  14 days at NVC (March 13).  45 days for interview (April 27)  10 days for VOH (May 7) 7 days to POE (May 14).  This is a very best case scenario.

I'm on day 216 and I expect another 126 days AFTER NOA2 approval...

That is what I am hoping.  I was also told that there were no June approvals yet so I don't trust a Tier II as far as I can throw them...

Guys roughly how long is a straightforward  RFE holding things up? My petitioner forgot to tick the box saying she wasn’t a criminal lol

It seems like that is no more than a week or two.  Something that simple (assuming the petitioner isn't actually a criminal) should be quick!

Seriously, it is a great sign that they looked at all.  The files with RFE seem to be kept separate so when the satisfactory answer is received, it is approved right away.  Congrats...

Hi Junies -

I got my NOA2 in the mail today and am confused - please help. Applied June 6th and was approved on Jan 4th.

The approval reads - "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. .. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

So - my case skipped the NVC? I thought the process was USCIS > NVC > Consulate. Its exciting that it's going straight to the consulate but I just want to make sure I interpreted it correctly.

Also, it does not indicate listed consulate. On the I-129F I had listed New Delhi, India so I am assuming that's where they sent it.

Also calling USCIS to confirm all this but wanted to check with the group here as some of you may be in the same boat as I am :)

Thanks!
