Confirm that this is up to date and correct before I screw you up

That was very useful.

What would be a reason for them to deny a greencard after doing this whole damn process?!

You can file to work before Green card, I forgot the form for it but someone here can post it

Just read the article, please correct me if I'm wrong. Fast forward to POE and courthouse wedding, our plan is to file for AOS, EAD and AP soon after getting our marriage certificate. So once we get the NOA1 for these, Tillie can legally work in the US. Is that right?

I think @Shaman got a tourist visa while on the process. And if he already have a visa he can definitely visit (I am visiting now)

He doesn’t have one but it doesnt take long in DR, like about a Month. So we will see if he is granted ine and come visit me while we wait.

I am not a June filer. But I am curious, is the current processing times 6 months or is it longer?

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Yes, recently it has been taking 6 months or longer from NOA1 to NOA2...you can take a look at Igors List to see people’s timelines

We are considering the same thing. It is cheaper and much quicker to green card. It is tough because we are already at day 215. I really don’t expect to see anything before day 230 to 240 if we are lucky. Still, going there to get married and then wait another 14 months for POE is a tough call. I expect that the K-1 is a year long process that we are already 7 months into. I am hoping for POE within 5 months but that is probably pushing it.  That will be a year since we filed.

If if I were starting the process today I would not even consider a K-1.

I would be the same if we were just starting. But Like I told you before it took my friend closer to 2 years for spouse visa. I couldn't imagine that all over again.

No, you need the EAD approval to work legally.

Well, tomorrow marks the 6 weeks mark since NOA2 for me!  A staffer at my congressman's office filed an inquiry with USCIS last Wednesday, so perhaps we'll hear back about that in the next week or so.  Still don't expect much, but it beats me having to sit on the phone with USCIS myself!

On a lighter note, we've just about nailed down our venue for our NZ wedding next year, and things are shaping up for our U.S. reception in March :)

The wait is definitely not easy and all these changes with the process is just making me ... *sigh*

It’s making me worry.

Even got to a point where I cried to my Fiancé and told him that I feel like I’m holding him back from things. I hope USCIS sees how genuine our love is for our partners.

I hope they hurry. :(

Yes, I hope they pick it up soon.

This process has one way or another caused anxiety to most of us. It is unfortunate that the uscis doesn't realize how the slowdown is affecting our lives. But it is what it is. We just need to hang on and keep the faith.

@John & Rose for the CR-1, do you think that those times are probably affected to, just like the K1? I couldn't imagine anyone starting over this far into it. But it definitely cheaper.

It looks to be much more stable if you look at the charts here.  Total time from NOA1 to POE with GC is 378 days and trending shorter.

I guess we can lurk in the CR-1 threads to see.  I haven't heard much grumbling over there.

She will need the EAD in hand, I believe.  That is 2 to 3 months.
