in one sense it's Government...what did you expect.  They cant help themselves, or us, for that matter....

I've got some anxiety over the lack of control in the process I feel we have been left to deal with....

We made a decision to file a K1 based on the published process on the federal website....

the process, processing time and fees to which we agreed and submitted.

We had other options available....

We could have married in a jurisdiction with no visa restrictions, say...Dominican Republic...and rather quickly, too...

and then petition for, then SPOUSE....to enter the country.

But, I'm still here, asking for and waiting for......permission....

Point is...they published a process....and we made decisions based on what was published.

Now - they are grossly exceeding these parameters...and offering very little guidance or even acknowledgement of a problem.

Today, at (whatever the hell day this is) day - if I enter their system to place a request for "exceeding processing time" - I can't.

System says everything is on schedule.

Well, its not on schedule.

This endeavor to relocate loved ones from another country, to be with us is the USA - whether one person or an entire family - it is BIG DEAL.

Oh, and Mr. Government....it requires a plan and a schedule.

...and when smart and serious people take on such a grand plan...and things begin to move off critical path...its cause for concern;

we want to do everything in our power to get it going right again....

Accountability to the published processing standard...and acknowledgement of delays.

p.s.  What is so difficult about processing this initial application?

US Citizen is "in the system" - a thousand different ways to cross-reference.

Beneficiary - Enter the info - they are vetted in Country...

Relationship real?.....cant be too hard to determine or ask for more information, if necessary.

Nah - they put the brakes on....slowed it all down....

equal distribution around the globe.....hope you dont

fall in love in the wrong country.....

geez, I'm in a good mood.

what day is it........?

Anytime I hear someone say that they want to find someone in America to fall in love with, I really discourage it.  Why?  There are people in your own country!  Or maybe people in another country that is easier to immigrate to.  If you have already fallen in love with someone, that's ok, but I would never ever suggest a person purposely look for love in another country.  For those of us who already loved someone in another country...how maddening!  I always thought that it was a person's right to marry whomever they choose.  I understand that the AOS/Citizenship is not a right, but the marriage should be.  I have a 20 year old daughter who is Arab-American.  She no longer considers forming a relationship with a guy outside of the USA.  Not after watching me go through mood swings missing my fiancé.  Even the kids are moody because they are looking forward to seeing him and the timetable keeps getting pushed back and, even then, it isn't a given.  I am sort of glad that this is happening to me because my older kids have family in Turkey and Syria and I would hate to see them introduce my daughter or son to someone and for him or her to go through this.  If they do, at least they will have a realistic picture of what they will go through.

For those of us who are genuine, however, we fell in love with a person, not their country.  It's just a big inconvenience but part of what makes each of us who we are and shapes the culture of the family we will make.  Oh well!  I definitely discourage people who have not met someone in another country yet to try not to do it if they can avoid it.

oh dang!! i think you can call them using the number provided on your receipt.

That's correct errors need to be called in. They will create a ticket and get back to you in a couple of days and will post any updates on that ticket on your USCIS login page.
