If she was here I was planning to buy Christmas gifts, but since she’s not and we never celebrated it during the 5 years I lived in Cambodia with her...does that mean I don’t buy anything?

Well, since you never really celebrated Christmas, I don’t think you need to buy her anything. Besides, you can get her something even if it’s not Christmas and that would be sweeter. Receiving gifts just out of the blue is sweet. 

 

Plus you’re saving for a house and that’s some long term thing right there! I’d say a new house would be the best gift you can give to the both of you.

A gift does not mean you have to spend (a lot of) money. Look through your chat history and find one of your very first conversations that really brings back memories and warm and fluffy feelings. Print and frame it. Voila.

I almost freaked out. I went back to the original thread and was trying to catch up again... and realized I couldn't reply to or quote anyone. Then got to the bottom of the page I was on and saw we couldn't post anymore.  I was like NO I STILL NEED THEM, WE AREN'T DONE YET.  But...patience, Mallory. Isn't that what the good Lord is trying to teach you here?

 

Congrats to the new approvals I saw on the last thread before we got diverted!! My heart is with everyone who is still waiting... Good vibes and prayers that it will come soon. We are in this all together till the end.... I129 approval just means we passed level one and we've moved up (my fiancé likes to compare this to a video game. )
