Some pages back, (couldn't find the post sorry), someone mentioned that scheduling an in-person appointment at a USCIS center may yield a better response than the Tier I / II calls, email-inquiries or congressman letters.

Anyone tried an in-person appointment? Does this affect anything / provide any additional information?

Thanks.

I read someone who stated that they claim that you can book an appointment, but its impossible to book one.

They only book 14 days in advance.

And it's always booked.

You can search for your local office and maybe visit in person to get an appointment date?

It seems that I can schedule an appointment with the offices that are close to me... But the online submission form asks for an "A" number. I wonder if it would be a useless appointment since I am the Petitioner and not the Beneficiary. Beneficiary will eventually get the "A" number right?

Its useless.i have visited here in Ny field office by appointment.i booked 14 days advance too. They do not provide any kind of information which would be helpful. They say we do not have your file its with the CSC.They go by online information as like tier 1.So do not waste your time by getting infopass for appointment from their website.

Hopefully yours was like mine, they bracketed my number but still no update online "still in received state".  Only received letter snail mail a week later that it was approved the same day as the bracketed numbers and off to NVC.

Not trying to rain on the parade, i was so excited to get my approval too, but saddly its probably still sitting at CSC with the rest that have been approved and not been sent to NVC. Sorry, just letting go of the lonely holiday frustrations ugh.

I do pray alot of people get approved over the next 2 days.

I’m on the same boat here! Something tells me we will get one because I didn’t do a detailed account of our meeting... not a good story teller. I so regret not doing it then... uggggghhh

me too... I didn't know I had to...  mine was pretty cut and dry and they don't give much space and I didn't attach a big long testimony because honestly I thought that would be too much and it seems the do like short and sweet files sometimes so..... yea...... who knows.

I wouldnt stress that. As for what i put on our meeting. We met on a dating site, i didnt send any statement about the site. I put the dates we were together and where. Thats all i put, no long story or deep explination. And only sent one pasport picture of each of us. I was affraid of getting rfe too, but no we were approved. So i guess you just never know with them.

What’s a “bracketed  number” and where do you see it?

Oh, a few weeks ago the cases before mine and after mine were touched the one before mine was RFE and after mine was approved, from vocaledge scans.  so I called that bracketed. mine shows untouched but was approved the same day.

Yes, I understand that but at least it is in a box for the CSC to think about sending to the NVC.   Then the CSC-NVC averaging ~41 days according to the tracker.  So another month and a half to wait.  Then the embassy wait.  So I am expecting Late March-Early May POE if all goes well.   But who knows I may be surprised.   I just hope the documents she has do not expire in the mean time they are only good for 6 months, and that is when VJ was predicting mid September time frame.  Sometimes it does not pay to have everything ready too far in advance.
