not to add fuel to the fire, but did people catch this article in today's NY Times?

This isn't about fiance visas, but it certainly makes me wonder.

If you can't build a physical wall, you can still build a wall to new immigrants.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/20/us/trump-immigration-slowdown.html

I just keep thinking and trying to find logic in this...I do believe there's a big connection between the slowdown and the new administration. One thing I don't understand though...If there was a "problem" with illegal immigration WHY in the world you they want to make legal immigration even harder?? Wouldn't that just make people immigrate illegally more? This is so backwards...Punish us for not wanting to break the law.

Looks like NVC create number process is now 7 weeks. And after the number another couple week at NVC before Embassy. After that another month before interview. Add time for visa issuance.

So we wait another 4 months after NOA2, is that correct? I guess May is the estimate for us for arrival if approved by mid January?

Am I off on any of that?

Thank you so much, dear! Just one question, I do understand it's really unpredictable and impossible to fairly estimate when my interview will be scheduled, but do you have any idea when it will happen? March? April?

it depends on how long USCIS holds on to your application before sending it to NVC... it WAS being sent within 2 weeks... now VJers are saying it is taking up to 6 weeks .... after NVC receives it, and then they forward to your embassy, you can proceed with scheduling the interview which again depends on your embassy and their availability with interview times... that's all dependent on the embassy... some can schedule as soon as a month after receiving your paperwork... some schedule 2 months out.... at this point because there is so many hold ups with the USCIS,  everything is so unpredictable.... until NVC gets your case, its hard to say... and its even safer to ballpark the timeframe after your embassy gets it............ I would say right now its safe to say early spring... but it could change for the better or worse....

I really hope its not 4 months after noa2. My noa2 says 2-4 weeks on it for nvc to receive. So praying it goes quickly.

My fiancé and I applied June 29 and I am getting so impatient waiting on an approval 😔.I was praying Santa would bring me an approval. That’s all I really want for Christmas

Dont be frustrated yet.  You are just day 175.  We are 198 and I do not expect anything until January.  I anticipate being in the 210 to 220 day range by the time the holidays are over.  I'm a June 6 filer hoping for good news before Valentines Day.  These are strange times.

I hope you do but you are only at 104 days right now.  I would love to see that happen but that will truly upset all of the June, July and August filers!!!!  Hang in there.  It will happen.
