My grandmother from Cornwall would smile at that!  Both of my mother's parents were born in the UK.  I miss my grandmother's Bubble & Squeak and Yorkshire Pudding.

@John & Rose your words have inspired me into opening up the Canada weekend trip possibility. Work is insane and I have zero PTO hrs left and another trip to Hungary was just not doable for me. I started looking at different possibilities, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Portugal, somewhere where tickets were not extremely expensive and time of travel was decent as well 3hr to 6 hrs. Getting ready to book my flight $261 to Totonto Canada, tears of joy... thanks for the inspiration!!!

AWESOME!!!  You won't regret it.  Hold your loved one tight and realize that this is just part of a lifelong journey.  When you are in each other's arms you will realize why you are on this journey to begin with.  There is nothing in life as important as being with your one true love.

I'm bringing that to the USA. Going to force my lot into having another roast on Christmas Day. Yorkshire puddings, the lot! Maybe not turkey. Roast beef... Mmm... Food.

 

From what I see, Thanksgiving seems to be a lot of mashed and weird sweet food... And green bean almondine 🤢 Yeah, solid foods for me. My Dad's recipe for stuffing balls, my mum's way of making crispy roast potatoes... 

 

Bloody hell, I'm hungry! ROLL ON MUMMA LOTT'S (potentially last) CHRISTMAS DINNER 🤤🤤🤤

Since there is a 14 hour difference we are going to share Christmas via FaceTime.  I bought the kids some gifts (from Santa) but I was also able to give the kids some money so they are going to get Rose some gifts (from Santa) too.  I will be there (via video) when they walk downstairs and see the gifts.  My Christmas Eve and their Christmas Day will be shared together.  Approval or not, this is going to be a great Christmas!

Just please, I beg you, DO NOT cook the roast to a consistency of shoe leather!  That is one thing I don't miss about my grandmother.

Great news, this waiting is very hard, I think it is the open ended time line that is hardest for me, if we knew we would have things sorted by X date life would be less stressful. unfortunately government employees just don't work like the rest of us!
