I'm not holding my breath.  Things are going to be very slow at USCIS for the next few weeks.  There are the "use it or lose it" people and holidays to deal with.  I really don't get what happened to June 6th.  It is like they lost all our petitions.  I just stopped by the May forum and there are people there in the 210s and 220s still waiting.  None of this makes sense to me.

My fiance' and I have accepted the fact that we won't see each other again until March or April. I have exhausted every avenue possible trying to get information on my petition. I am just over the whole process.

Looks like the same thing is happening to June 6th as with May 22nd and 26th  It's like they choose certain days to ignore...

Day 200 today.

Like many of you, I am despondent over this situation and having difficulty keeping my attitude positive.

My fiance and I need to see each other and spend quality time together. Christmas is a write-off for us both, we cannot see each other over the holidays.

But I'd like to visit him in January for a month. However, in anticipation of moving, I gave up my apartment two months ago to bunk with family and have no lease or home ownership in my name anymore. What can I say, it seemed like a good idea back when the timeline on VJ here suggested that this ordeal would be over by now.  Save money and have the bulk of the work of disposing of my apartment done and over with by the time the interview rolled around. *sigh*

Anyhow. I work part time, from home, don't make much money and can't produce a letter or any guarantees in that department. So, other than a return plane ticket home, I'd have nothing to show as proof of ties.

As for visits to the US: I spent a lot of time in 2016 with him at this home, but in 2017 I spent only a week in January, and six weeks mid-March through to beginning May. I haven't been back since.

In addition, his work schedule makes it much more difficult for him to visit me here, even if I had a place to host him anymore.

What do you guys think? Should I take a chance on trying to fly down for a visit? Any thoughts?

I think it’s worth a shot...who would’ve guessed this process would drag on so long!!!

I have tried but they give the same spill every time...that they don't work the cases in order and they can't control whose desk our petitions end up on.

It is the chance we are taking too. We've celebrated the Holidays together six years in a row, this will be our 7th year. Why break the tradition now...   :)
