I told my bosses that I would be leaving by the end of the year. :bonk:

It just seems so stupid that I was so naive to think like that.

I had my fiance call twice now with no avail.

If we don't get approved next week, we will be waiting until January.

He is in the middle of booking a flight for me for Valentine's Day because it doesn't look like I will be leaving anytime soon.

I did the very same thing, told my work that I'll be leaving in Oct, then Nov, then Dec...Last I told them, it will be Feb but even that seems far-fetched now. We even went as far as interviewing candidates for my position. We were all gung ho then about finding a replacement, but now everyone at work realizes that this is going to drag on for a while, they've stopped asking me "when" and I am glad they did because it's just rubbing salt into my wounds :unsure:  How nice that he's flying you in for Valentine's Day. Feb. 19 is Family Day (in most provinces anyway - are you in one of them?) which coincides with Presidents Day in the US. You might want to extend your vacation  :):)

I'm in Ontario so YES! Feb. 19 is our family day.

I might just do that. lol.

Thanks for the heads up.

They started interviewing for my position too when I told them.

Now they are just chill and don't give me hard projects cause they don't know where everything stands. Sigh.

You know what sucks for me, a lot of people at work got salary review (pay increase) - I know coz I am in HR. They did not even bother to look at mine because they thought I will be gone by now. I think I will talk to my boss and tell them that I will be here for a while! :)

Dear Lord Jesus, we ask that You would intervene in a wonderful way for OUR fiancé’s visa approval, which seems to be taking such a long time, in getting the necessary consent.

Lord I confess that WE ARE afraid that something will go wrong that will prevent approval from being granted, which would cause us both so OR heart-ache, and so Lord we ask that You would grant that it will go through this vetting process, without any further problems or delay.

Help US to trust You in this matter. OUR spirit is willing but my flesh is weak.. and too often fear rises in my heart that approval will be denied – but WE know that You are in control and pray that it will be granted speedily.

Help us both to rest in You and allow Your perfect peace to flood our hearts, as we wait for the proper approval – trusting You to undertake - this I ask in Jesus name.

Amen

Faith!!!!!!! :)

Amen

LOOOOLL.

That's horrible!

It's like they are waiting for you to leave.

You should definitely see if you can get a raise.

It will be a nice way to start the year.

I'm still struggling completing my successes of the past year form cause I have no motivation to even log into the site.

Right there with you.

Now I'm afraid if they move on to next week's cases that we will totally be forgotten OR there is something wrong with our case.

I really don't think there's anything wrong with our cases, just poor processes. I just foolishly thought that we'd be on the forefront of our date's approvals since we seem to have a straightforward case (didn't meet online, same age, had 6 trips with a 7th already planned when we applied, traveled internationally, no marriages or kids). At least our lawyer prepped us for a long wait so we weren't as shocked as others, but I didn't think it'd get this bad at this stage. For now we'll just keep waiting patiently.

Haha.

Same!

We dated for year, got engaged, waited 5 months before applying for the VISA.

In the year and half, we traveled about 5-6 times, each of us and several more after we applied.

No kids, no previous marriage.

Same age. Same cultural background. Same religion.

Pictures of our engagement party - like 70 people from both sides.

Just insane.

I wish they would just reject us already if we are headed that way.

The wait is more torturous.

Engagement party photos may be hurting you they may classify it to married for a k1 if that is what u are filing for.

No!!!!! IT DEPENDS on the Embassy. MANY CULTURES require ENGAGEMENT CEREMONY! It would even be a major problem if you didn't have one!!!

That's dumb.

It's cultural for us to have them.

You can't get engaged without inviting your extended family to be a part of it LOL.

I agree.

My family and parents would have been offended had we not had one.

Either way, there is plenty of proof that we met, are in love, engaged, etc etc.

We even did a engagement photo shoot in DC.

You are wrong you are dealing with other Governments you are dealing with the USA and what they deam and see to married is what they see and can refuse you the K1 because of engagement party.

and from another perspective:  my sister got approved without ANY of that... so i think it depends on the adjudicator...

edit:  i mean that my sister and her fiance received NOA2 without engagement party photos or proof of engagement. just photos that they met.

Not true!

They understand cultures and religions.

You can even apply for K1 Visa if you haven't met the person...ever... If there are religious or cultural restrictions that prohibit it.
