I just want your opinions on this because I am considering this option, but I am not sure I am making the right decision:

What is your opinion on having money saved, moving to your fiance's country, and being together until this process is done?

Is this even an option realistically?

Depending on how long the process takes, if you over stay your limit wouldn't that be a problem?

And, don't you need to do your interview at your own country and embassy? As well as your medical?

I know a friend going back and forth. A month there, a month back home for the past bit, but it's hard.

If you can afford the expenses and your country's passport allows you to travel to the US on a tourist VISA  then do it.

I am the US Citizen and petitioner...I should have cleared that up in the beginning

I also didn't read this as the bene... I read this as the petitioner.... as the PETITIONER, I would do what you have suggested... stay as long as I could pending the visitor limitations for instance in Brazil which is 3 months I believer - I wouldn't be able to stay longer... as for a BENE,  there may be more involved considering you will need to be in your country to do all the necessary steps prior to interview. I know if Jorge was eligible for a tourist Visa, he would be staying with me for at least a month or more. but in Brazil, if you don't have STRONG ties to the country as evidence you will return, you are easily easily denied a tourist visa... as a 40 year old "single" self-employed, living with family male, he has nothing proving he wont just skip out all together from Rio... so he cant visit me, and I cant visit him (because of my job and 2 year old) so its REALLY difficult for us bec we don't even HAVE the option..... I say regardless of whether or not oyu are bene or petitioner, go stay with your significant other for a good while during the wait.

edit: I just read you ARE the petitioner.. so yes GO

I broke down and called USCIS this morning. Knew I would be pointless, but felt like I had to try. Spoke to Brett (tier 1) who must be new because he seemed very upbeat and he transferred me to a tier 2 immediately upon asking. Spoke to Officer Boyle who just gave me the run around about May 1 processing. Blah. June 12 case

Right there with you.

Now I'm afraid if they move on to next week's cases that we will totally be forgotten OR there is something wrong with our case.

Hahaha!

Oh!

Would you have to quit your job?

Don't you need to show your income come interview time?

We HAVE to show the petitioner's income? I was not aware of that....but isn't there a way that family can "sponsor" him and say they will support him?

And yes, unfortunately I would have to quit my job. It sounds so nice right now.....but the regret would come later if I can't find a better job and I have to support us:huh:

If I would go, my parents would support us for the time being. I wish he could visit, but he would be denied the tourist visa (he  tried that a few years ago...exactly what you said....single male, no ties to his country,  no kids......the USA won't give you that tourist visa).

GO? Go!!?? I want to so bad....you're tempting me even more...I wonder if there is anyone here who has quit their job and left to the beneficiary's country to be together? Anyone? :)

TBH, I think they just work very erratically. I don't think there is anything wrong with your case or my case, they just have a really really really really really really really really bad system for doing things with absolutely no order. I think we just got the short straw and got on the wrong person's desk... I am telling you , its the guy who searches "i hate my boss memes" all day has an annoying laugh that and eats Cheetos by the family size bag (if one exists... I don't even know)  but I have an image of this guy and I'm out to get him....

I make enough money to meet the requirements however, its a temp job right now so idk If that is going to affect things considering its an open-ended end date and possible hire-on so my parents have also agreed to sponsor... isn't that such a blessing. GO . like stop .... GO! you WILL NOT REGRET IT

Do you know if the form for sponsoring was supposed to be sent in or we can we show that at the interview (if I do decide to go through with this of course) ??

It is such a blessing, really!

I told my bosses that I would be leaving by the end of the year. :bonk:

It just seems so stupid that I was so naive to think like that.

I had my fiance call twice now with no avail.

If we don't get approved next week, we will be waiting until January.

He is in the middle of booking a flight for me for Valentine's Day because it doesn't look like I will be leaving anytime soon.
