Hi all, I'm a May 26 NOA1, still nothing.

I spoke to Tier 2 for first time today.  The officer was very friendly.  He said my case is still pending, and in his system he says that my normal processing time will be "up" in 25 days.  So basically, he says they have to review my case in the next 25 days.  He says from his view he sees a countdown to when my case would be "outside" normal processing time, and apparently it says -25 days.  He says he can't even put an inquiry in for it until after then.

Has anyone else heard similar?

I was told today since they updated the processing timeline December 7th it could be updated January 7th next... to show June 1sts being processed. At that point all May cases become outside normal processing time. You can put an inquiry whenever its updated to June 1st be that Monday or in approx 25 days on January 7th. Another person was told this today as well... my personal belief I think we all got the same person giving bad advice. I expect they will update to June proceedings on Monday.... but 3 of us getting this same info is a possible bad sign

I spoke to a tier one this morning who told me that the chart had already updated this month on December 7th.  Thus, it wouldn't be updating on Dec 16th as many on this blog have said.  She said it wouldn't be updated again until January.  Waiting on a call back from a tier 2 right now.

I was told this also today by a tier 1. Personally I dont believe it.... yet

@vml if CSC hasn't mailed yours yet I'd get your congressman involved. A staffer in my congressman's office made an inquiry for me on Wednesday, and even tho she got a reply yesterday that it was still "waiting to be mailed", when I called and talked to a tier 2 today they told me it was mailed yesterday finally. It could just be a coincidence, but I think having her call did help get it shipped out yesterday.

Who is Congressman.??   you mean our attorney?

I have a question if anyone knows. My fiance (in the US) wants to quit his job because it is very stressful and effecting his life negatively. He wants to keep pushing through until i get my visa but that could be 2-3 months away, who knows. Ive past the 6 week stage of waiting for NVC for some news. Does he NEED to be currently working for me to be accepted and live with him?

I think only last year's tax returns count, but I may be wrong so wait for other people!

It is alright as long as he meets either 125% of the poverty guidelines, or meet the asset requirement. If unable to do either, you will need a joint sponsor. He has to fill up the I-134 form (Affidavit of Support) and  provide the supporting documents (i.e. bank statements, tax transcripts or form 1040 and W2), the consulate will scan through this form during the interview.

That’s crazy ! I didn’t know others in my timeframe have gotten inquiries! I feel like timing is fishy as my congressman inquired 15 days ago and they heard back the standard “30-45” days ... which puts me at approximately 25 more days .. coincidence or not ?

My attorney made a out of normal processing inquiry on my behalf at day 177, Nov. 8th. NOA2 Approval on day 179 via hard copy Nov. 10th. USCIS online notice November 14th, text and apps also and @Shoegum. scan... Point is they can and will place the inquiry just have to be able to find one that will. My attorney may know the magic words to use I guess. Got the official notice of the inquiry results on the 22nd on November. Just wished there were some more magic words to use on getting the documents to the NVC now. Make a call and get kicked down the road another week......

Keep in mind that one of the requirements he needs to provide to you is a letter from his employer stating his position, salary, etc.  I'm not sure what happens if he doesn't have that to provide to you; probably, if his savings and other assets exceed the minimum poverty guidelines, you will be okay.

If the job sucks, the job sucks and that stuff kills people.

In order to prove income, you can have an employment letter printed out - or you can just submit the last couple of years tax returns.  I don't think that the USCIS is going to require that you have a job "right this second" if you have a track record of being able to earn a good living.

But if quitting the job at this time would put the income qualifications at risk (and we're talking about 2 more weeks until the end of the year), don't do it.  If he has a dubious track record of income (close to the poverty level, or has fallen below it previously) then don't do it.

If he's a consultant, and pulls a six-figure income, working 3-6 months a year when it's good weather, and takes winters off - that would be very easy to explain during the interview process!

Does anyone know how long it takes for NVC to add cases to their system from the date USCIS actually mails them?

Trying to gauge whether or not early Nov. NOA2s have a chance at getting case numbers before Christmas...

In the past when it took around 2 weeks for people to get case numbers, I'm wondering if USCIS was mailing them almost right after they approved them. Not sure if anyone else has found out when USCIS mailed their case / tracked how long it took for NVC to receive it and assign a number, but if anyone has any data please share :)
