Called NVC. No luck. Same answer - takes up to 6 weeks. I asked him if they immediately enter into system once they get it from USCIS. He said, no, it takes another couple of weeks. So, its probably at NVC, but not entered into system.

Has anyone had Tier 2 not call them back after making them wait a certain amount of time?

Yes couple of times..but yesterday they did call back and said.what's already in oir inquiry email that we got 20 days ago, that our case is currently being adjudicated and confirmed it's outside of normal processing time, and we SHOULD( but even there they don't use word WILL, cause nothing is for sure with them) receive notice of action within 45 days..well already been 20..

Yes, My fiance asked for tier 2 sometime last week and the tier 1 agent said she'd forward the number to a tier two and they will call before the end of the day.. and yes they called back 2 hours later.

As fate would have it, our Noa2 was approved yesterday, the same day I landed in my fiance's resident country to visit for 2 weeks! Haha. Such a blessing to get the news while we're together-- now we can relax and enjoy our time together a little more. The status has not updated on the website our the app yet and I will update the RFE master list when I have access to a real computer. I will say an extra prayer tonight for those still waiting for NOA2--I know the process is fatiguing but your approval will come in due time! Stay positive and God bless!

Noa1: May 2nd

RFE: October 20

RFE acknowledgement: November 1st

Noa2: December 4th

Congrats!

Maybe because USCIS have been approving more June cases so I'm guessing they have a lot more to talk about

Yeah, was told they did day by day.  Which would make sense.  But that be too easy.

You should first give them your WAC# because that's what they are gonna ask for first. Because the alien # is specific to the beneficiary, you don't want to give them that first because at times if the beneficiary has previously applied for any other type of visa, the alien # will be listed on file already.

The alien # is beneficiary's identification number until they get their SSN#.

Just to share some info on the A number, as I came to the US from Europe back in the "last millennium" :)

The A number with follow you throughout  - all the way - even after being naturalized.

It will be used for the adjustment of status and even the "Green card" will include this number on it. Once a person applies for naturalization, again it is the main number. Actually even the naturalization certificate will bear that same A number.

One thing that I didn't know was that when the NOA2 came back, even though I got naturalized years ago and am an US citizen, they included my "old" A number on the NOA2 as well.

Take good care of the number - looks like an USCIS lifeline ;)

So I hear all the time people talk about calling NVC for the number / status update... BUT aren't they supposed to update you themselves by sending you a letter / email / text message or something??

Also when you do get the NVC number, are you able to track it online?

NOA2 - Dec 1

NOA2 Hard copy received - Dec 6

NVC received - Jan 18

NVC Case # assigned - Jan 29

Embassy receives documents (NVC status is READY) - Jan 31

Medical Exam - Feb 21

Interview - Feb 27

long wait due to government incompetence realized in 2 month testing for TB

POE - May 22

Hey everyone! thought I would share what the NVC sent me by email after I inquired about my case :) Its been 4 weeks now since I got my NOA2 (NOV 3RD)

"Thank you for your inquiry. The National Visa Center (NVC) has not received your petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Please allow up to six weeks from the date USCIS approved your petition for us to receive it. We will contact you with instructions on the next steps once we have your approved petition."

They really should contact my fiancé in the next coming weeks otherwise how else will we know to take the next steps...
