I think the last person should get a refund along with the approval... just my suggestion for USCIS

Nice suggestion but we have a better chance hitting the lottery before USCIS let's that happen.

So a week and a half ago I went to see my district congressman this is 2 weeks after terminating my lawyer's services. The representative at the congressman's office wrote a letter to CSC and submitted it the same day 2/16. He called to f/u the letter on 2/23 but was told the same b.s. we've heard a million times about the case is still being reviewed by an officer. He made another f/u call yesterday and was informed I was approved that same day. I re-read the email like 10x. Its all surreal...I thought I would be more excited and don't get me wrong I am overjoyed but this feels bittersweet. I've waited a long long time with other unfortunate souls for over 9 months for a NOA2 approval(which I haven't received the hard copy yet) so I'm afraid to be happy. I want to keep positive but this has been such a long & drawn out process. I haven't been on VJ for a while but I want to wish all those approved congratulations and those still waiting to keep on pushing. I know sometimes we feel like giving up but when one door closes kick open another. Good luck to all and have a great weekend.

Super duper happy to see this. gives us last victims a breath of hope!! Awsome, congratulations!

I feel the exact same way I get what you said. Im so angry even the approval wont fix it. USCIS will forever be scum on my list.

I got my Case number this morning when I called. They said they will send it out and the consulate should have received it within one week.

Is the DS-160 an online sheet we fill out? OMG so after the consulate receives it, it just moves super fast right?

Should i have him get anything ready in his part?

Now, I am getting excited!!!!

From the time we got a Case number I think it was 4 or 5 business days and it said Ready for Interview. Before that it just says In Transit. For this Consulate you fill out the DS-160 online and then it gives you a special code number and payment sheet. You pay at the bank and within 48 hours it opens the calendar to schedule your appointment. This Consulate sent me an email with Instructions and said we schedule our own K-1 appointment. We called the 4 Embassy approved doctors and one there was no answer and the others want an appointment date before they will schedule you. Our calendar should open soon. However, it did say after we got the confirmation sheet that the first available appointment was March 7. The CEAC website has a link to the DS-160, and work fast because it kept trying to time out on me. It will also give you a chance to review all the information which we did because you don’t want any mistakes at all.

He will need an updated Letter of Intent

Affidavait of Sponsorship with Supporting Docs

Original Birth Record

Any Divorce records for either of you - Certified

Updated proof of relationship

Police Clearance - less than 6 months old

Passport with at least 6 months out from the

Date of expected arrival in the US

They will want to know your expected travel plans

DS-160 asks for a lot of the same information in your original petition so have it handy to make sure it matches up; take Confirmation page and payment receipt to the Interview and the Approval notice

2 passport photos for Interview

They say you need 10 passport photos for your Medical Appointment

Finally be prepared to answer questions about the relationship

I hope that helps that was a lot

Thanks to all for the congrats. @Trinab80 I'm so sorry your congressman didn't help. It's heartbreaking when put your hopes into someone and it doesn't pan out but please don't give up. Exhaust every single option you can. @NateAndJessica that's exactly the same feelings I'm having. I have been waiting so long I still feel like nothing has changed. Maybe when I get the hard copy my feelings will change but I'm so over this process. Until I have my fiancee in my arms I won't truly be happy.

Guys... I'm kind of in the middle of a heart attack! At the interview my fiance was "approved" now I checked the tracker and It says "administrative process" !! I haven't got any communication from the embassy! Is this normal status until they "stamp" the visa???

Everyone goes through administrative processing. It usually takes a day or two nothing to worry about. If it changed to "non-immigrant visa" on the tracker and you're under administrative processing you're all good and it's normal. If it's still immigrant visa during AP it might be something else maybe more serious.

@Trinab80 and @NateAndJessica I can not imagine what you are going through right now. But please stay strong. Do not give up hope. It is so incredibly hard I know. I really do believe that you will hear something when you least expect it. (And they really better give you guys a refund--). I am so sorry you have to go through this ---but I am following along until you get your approvals.

Many thanks! Don't worry to much bout me Ive never been as singularly focused in my life, Im ready to move to Brazil and learn Portuguese worst case, no one can stop us. Im just more disappointed in how humans with power in general don't maintain a sense of compassion, the lack of concern for migrants worldwide in general has me pretty down on America. All I ever needed from uscis was a little open communication, this whole process is beyond farce... its evil.

Apparently once you apply for immigration even if your a citizen your demoted to a lower class of human that no longer can expect any normal types of recourse when a job is not performed appropriately.
