Yes. The solution was to submit a new DS-160. People have done that in the past without issue if you haven't paid the visa fee (which I hadn't) and hadn't reported to the interview (obviously not.) At least the DS-160 application was intelligent enough to let me duplicate it, so I was able to generate a new barcode by working through the application again (filling in a couple spots that were missing for some reason.)

All good, interview booked.

How far out was you Interview booked ?

Been a long process and without putting all my eggs in one basket, after our issued 221g it's finally changed to Non Immigrant Visa Administrative Processing. Hopefully this is good news and come monday will have a nice 'Issued' next to it!

This is a letter I sent to my lawyer. I filed 5/30/2017 then sent back a RFE 1/27/2018. I’m going on 9 months now.

Is it like this for all your clients ? I’m starting to feel discriminated against. I’ve been to the Philippines 🇵🇭 4 times this year to be with my fiancé. If met all the requirements. I’ve paid the fees. Thousands of people are getting k-1 visas that have filed months after us . There is no one to call or email at immigration. It’s like they are hiding from their customers. I have no idea who’s desk my application is sitting on and collecting dust. There is no way to check to see if they even received our RFE evidence we sent in. What if it was lost or something??? It’s almost been 9 months now. I’m losing my mind to be honest.

Sorry I'm not familiar with your case, but why would it change to Non-immigrant? We also are waiting on administrative processing, with the DS5535 form.

@Naes @AK&JO @Minori

Hi Japan filers. :)

We have our interview on Monday and we've been getting the final paperwork together, when I realize that we have no more official Koseki left... They got mixed into some other document and we ordered them but they haven't arrived yet.

@AK&JO How did they use your koseki when you went to the interview?

I'm like half freaking out right now, but there really isn't anything I can do... ):

I'm gonna be completely honest with you. This letter you just sent your lawyer is complete waste of time and just added more money into your lawyer's pocket for billable hours just to read it.

There's nothing your lawyer can do to make USCIS touch your case and review it. I've been sitting here over 9 months now and I haven't received anything...no RFE, NOA2, NOID...NOTHING!!! At least, you received a RFE that based off of your timeline, it hasn't been a month yet from you responding back to them. Your lawyer is only going to tell you that you have to wait and that's it. The most he can do is call on your behalf and get told the same thing you would get told if you called. I'm not trying to bust your bubble, I'm just telling you like it is. I understand your frustration, trust me, but be lucky you got a RFE and was able to fix whatever it was they wanted. You could be like me heading into month 10 in the next 15-20 days hearing absolutely nothing and I've contacted EVERY GOVERMENT AGENCY AND STILL GOT THE SAME ANSWER I GET OVER THE PHONE!!!

Your NOA2 is coming and I bet you will probably get it sometime next week. One thing's for sure, you'll definitely get it before I get mine!

Well the K1 is an Non Immigrant visa with the intent to Immigrate, and as you go through the Immigration section at the consulate everything up to that point is Immigrant, when it's approved it changes to Non

Trina , why is everybody else getting all this great news and a few of us are having to wait probably the full 12 months ? I keep seeing all these time lines that have interview approvals after 7 and 8 months 😢 Sometimes I feel discriminated against because this is a same-sex relationship but I hope that’s not  what’s really going on .I guess the only thing we have left is praying and having faithI guess the only thing we have left is praying and having faith

I understand your frustration but I can tell you that I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that it has anything to do with the fact that you two are in same-sex relationship. Matter of fact, there is another same sex couple on here I believe his husband is from the Philippines and they went through the K1 and were approved. So, take that thought far out of your mind.

Yes it does hurt to see everyone else surpass me and fiancé and every day there's a notification for everyone else but us and I keep asking myself the same thing....why us? But in your situation, your case has been touched and reviewed which is a good thing because all that adjudicator has to do is review your RFE docs and that's it - case approved. So you technically were in the group of everyone else that has been reviewed already, you just had to respond to an RFE. You could be like me....sitting here wondering what, why, when because I WOULD KILL FOR A RFE RIGHT NOW!!!!

It's only been 3 weeks for you. I think next week might be your week. Keep in mind that Monday was a holiday so that means that they really didn't "work" until Wednesday because others probably took the extra day off for the longer weekend. Either way....you are a whole lot closer than me. But your NOA2 is coming!! You have to trust and believe that it is!

Hi @watahana87

For 戸籍謄本, I just brought itself in Japanese and English translations and in my memory they returned to me after submitting at the embassy. So it will be part of first step when you submit all needed documents to the embassy.

If there are things you don't need they will return to you so bring everything on the list that embassy listing on the website for interview!

Good luck and if there is any other questions let me know. I can answer this weekend!

Did they ask for 独身証明書 (can't remember the real name of it....)?
