We booked in the first week of January. Yes, it only took one more business day for the status to become issued. Got the physical visa on Thursday. Create another profile and keep checking for the earliest available interview date. If you find an earlier date available, login with real account and quickly change to the earlier date.

My British counterpart just had her interview today!  Approved!  May 15 filers, Feb 9th approval!  So happy and excited, you've all been such wonderful examples of patience this whole time and have been a source of comfort reading about other people in the same process.  Thank you all!

Case update:  Fiance had interview on Monday and case was moved to administrative processing under the new DS-5535 "extreme vetting."  We were so close, and now it feels like his POE is so far away.  Wishing everyone all the best!

NVC #: January 2

Ready at Embassy: January 28

Interview: February 5

AP: February 5

I sent mine in and they received it the 16th of January but I have yet to get a response as if they denied or approved. I am biting my nails over here with how anxious I am.

They were required the passport style photo of my fiance (PETITIONER)

You will get an answer soon, or maybe just the Hard copy of your approval in your mail box as our friend JohnAna, his ref was received January 16th too and the case status didnt update, he just received his hard copy this week.

Very Interesting..

Just received the actual Package 3 letter from the Embassy overseas , however mailed from the US. As the date on the letter  is 01/25/-18 and it arrived today 02/09/18 I guess it was sent to the US via diplomatic routes and then put in the regular mail (mail stamp is 02/06/18).

The funny part is that under my address (US petitioner), however it is for my overseas beneficiary. My US address but addressing her in the letter - doesn't make any sense. This should have been sent to her in Thailand, not to me.They have as well my email address listed, however they preferred to use this extra-slow snail mail instead.

The "whole" packet includes a letter starting that the "office is pleased to inform that it can begin to process your visa case, together with the case number.

The Packet 3 is nothing more than 2 website links listing the web pages with the Packet 3 instructions. The size of the paper is literally the size of the envelope 

I have to say that I am surprised that they sent the letter to me here in the US and not to the beneficiary overseas!

 

I'm sure glad that we didn't wait for this letter as the way it is right now, our interview is set for the 13th - only 3 days away on Asian time 

As well, we would have only now be able to schedule the medical. Instead  we followed the CEAC tracker and once we've seen "at NVC", we called them and got the case number which we presented at the hospital for the medical. They did give us some hard time as they were asking for the letter, but we managed to get it done by providing a screenshot of the CEAC status page instead.

Once the CEAC tracker showed "ready" we emailed the embassy and asked if we can send the Packet 3 to them which we did.

In Bangkok the embassy sets the interview date, and so we are set for  02/13/18.

So this overseas part of the journey is almost done, soon the hassle will start again over here in the US, lol.

 

I'd figured I'd share how this info in case somebody else from Thailand is waiting for the actual letter;)

@MarkbK1  Interesting... that wasn't our experience at all; my fiancee received the Packet 3 from the embassy in Bangkok... I guess that Murphy's Law persists in all parts of this grueling process...

Hey, I am doing good thanks. How are you doing? I have been lurking and checking this thread often in hopes to see your post of your approval.  Praying for you hoping you get your approval soon.

You have nothing to be nervous about (I know easier said that done) but I'm sure the interview will be fine! Are you guys going to the interview together?

 

I hope to get our approval soon too!!! Trying to remain in a positive state of mind which can be hard to do but I know that it will come (eventually). The plus side of things is that the NVC process seems to be moving faster now - only close to how it use to be so I'm hoping that once we get our approval that we can zoom through that wait; although, after waiting almost 9 months (7 days away from that happening), the waiting time for the NVC portion is a breeze!
