Hi @Naes,

Here is the details if your originally from Tokyo. (The guidance differs by each prefecture's Police Department so need to check the website by prefecture)

Seems differ by people living in Tokyo and the Japanese citizen living abroad but just follow the direction on the website and you'll be fine.

For  the document of "提出先機関からの証明書を要求する文書等、証明書発給の必要性が確認できる書類",  I brought I-797 NOA 2 approved doc from USCIS which my fiance in US received.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Tokyo is very nice and used to this certification process so you don't need appointment but just visit Kasumigaseki:)

You'll get it it 2 weeks.

@Naes

Sorry here is the URL of Tokyo's police certification details:

Okay, nice! Your coming back to Tokyo huh?

I definitely don't think it matters how many days or month your in Tokyo but after you come back to Tokyo, you can just call them anything you want to confirm before visiting police department:)

I called them once but they were kind and specific so no worries!

I'll call them to ask tomorrow if I can get it there, it says as lon as I register it's ok. So I believe it should be ok

Guys.. who among here received the packet 3? Is it via email or mail? What does it looks like the packet 3?

I am so stressed because its been 8 days that NVC change the status from At NVC to ready.. i even call and email our US embassy singapore if they have received my packet. They said they dont entertain such enquiry i need to email.. i sent email and i got a reply that since january 24 they sent the packet 3 via registered mail but until now.. nothing..

My fiance called NVC and they said its not a packet.. its like only a letter.. so i really dont know what it looks like..

I need that letter to request foe police clearance here.. and i cant just go for medical checkup without that letter..

So guys can you tell how did you receive your packet 3.. what does it looks like?

I need an answer.. please..😭😭😭

I think that depends on the embassy did you try asking to the embassy or someone who went through Singapore?

or do you mean the NVC letter?

I guess that's a good thing.  Doesn't help with my depression or feeling like all this waiting is setting me up for a denial at this point. 15 more days of waiting and it will be 9 months since we mailed our petition in. I'm closing in on a year and I have received nothing!!! I would be so happy with a RFE right now because at least I would only be waiting 2-3 more weeks after responding back.

I'm really really happy to see that almost everyone in my filing group is done or almost done with this process but it makes me sink deeper in my hole because Reni and I are stuck. March 4th will be our 2 year anniversary and I'm confident that I will still be waiting, fighting to get him here.

Just starting to think that our outcome will not be a happy one!!!

They got my RFE back 2 weeks ago.  A week before Shiquilo got theirs in (same issue as mine).  They heard back before me.  There's really no telling on time.  They do as they please now.  I'm frustrated beyond belief with this process!

You're absolutely right but as I said RFE turnaround appears to be 2-3 weeks after response so you'll get your approval if not by Friday, definitely sometime next week. And definitely before I hear anything about my case.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

Most recently are taking 29-30 days.  Don't expect one till February 15th.  They are waiting as long as possible.
