Hi folks! We are May 30 filer here and just got approved last January 10 after 225 days of long waiting.  We are still waiting for the hard copy of our noa2 but I just want to ask if when did you start calling the NVC?   Is it an advantage to call them everyday? Does it help? When is the best time to call them,  morning or afternoon?   I've read it takes almost 8weeks Now for the Case number. Thanks in advance for all your responses.  I will appreciate it.  God bless us!!!

Finally received my case number and invoice number from NVC at last yesterday 11th. Man I spoke with even apologized for the really long wait from the USCIS. I wasn't expecting that at all. Now should be a lot quicker but will have to endure another really long weekend and a holiday shutdown for Monday. Hopefully at embassy next week. Still at NVC now though, hope it moves today to transit, but not counting on it.

After 8 months of waiting we have been denied. We got an Rfe in December questionning the validity of my fiances divorce in Nevada. We provided all the evidence needed, as agreed by an immigration lawyer.

They didn't even update the system. We had a a notice saying mail had been returned by the post office on 9 January. We called last night and they told us we were denied on 22 December. We don't even know why.

What can we do now? Can I enter the USA on ESTA (still valid) to visit her?

I think you could have them reopen it for consideration but I really don't know how it works :( I think your lawyer should know. Really sorry this happened. The notice should explain why you got denied though.

Sooooo, I got my "response" to my inquiry which basically says they regret that they cannot give me a timeframe when they will be able to my case but the CSC is committed to working on their caseload. And that they will be making every effort to adjudicate my case in a timely manner. And that's it.

No expected timeframe, nothing about waiting for security background checks to clear, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Nothing more than what I have been told week by week when I call. Submitting an inquiry did nothing!!  I didn't get any update on my case and I'm nowhere near closer to a decision than I was yesterday and the days before.

I'm still waiting with uncertainty as to why it's taking so long. Here I'm thinking it's gonna say something about background checks or SOMETHING, and I still got NOTHING!!!

Maybe I need to withdraw my petition and just start over with doing the spousal visa at this point! I really don't know what to do!!

This is very disappointing to read. I was hoping that you would have heard something by now. I would recommend in your case that you consult an immigration attorney for assistance if you don't hear anything within the next month. I know you shouldn't need an attorney for this visa, but to withdraw the petitioner after waiting so long and starting over would almost be like heading into another unknown since you don't know what the hold up is now. Sending prayers your way.

Wait 6-7 weeks, then start calling every couple of days. Check the spreadsheet on google to see who’s reporting NVC received and if people with dates around yours start reporting receive then you know it’s time to call. Latest received date as of today is Nov 25th. So you gots a while to go.

Guys, I have a question about proof of employment. We are sending LES documents (those are leave and earning statements in case you don’t know, basically like a pay stub from the DOD) from the military, as well as a copy of my orders along with tax returns and w2s. Do we need to send a letter from the DOD stating I am employed? It’s next to impossible to get that in my company.

We are stil in the NOA2 wait stage. But my fiancé who is military (air force) plan in furthers steps to send "Leave and earning statement" doc.. We can see on this that it shows the years service and current employment.. should be good to prove the employment ?!

not 100% sure, Just a thought..

That’s what we are hoping is enough. Most people who have taken a letter from their companies to their interviews said the officers tossed it and didn’t wanna see it.

Hi! Thank you for this!

So you had all your documentation ready? And they scheduled you only three weeks out? Was this a cancellation or are they really ready to schedule less than a month out?

Did they send Packet 4 by email?

I'm NOA2 Dec. 19th and still waiting for NVC to receive my case but if it's going to be that quick, maybe I better get my USC to start sending his documents to me sooner than I thought. :)

Hey! You are welcome :)

No my documentation I am supposed to bring to the interview, so it's not completely ready. I have most of it ready, like my police certificate my fiance will bring what's needed of him when he comes sees me before the interview etc.. and yes! There were available spots 3 weeks out so I chose it. There were three timings there so I don't think its a cancellation lol. And yes packet 4 was sent my email after I sent them the packet 3 a second ime lol. All the best!

True.. I've heard that alot !

Just to feel more comfortabe about your own proofs, I would still take all that I can.. Such as Bank statement as recent as possible, tax return, w2s, Leaves and earnings statement, recent orders (he got deployed).. This are examples of things we plan to provide.. But my fiancé strongly believe the Leaves and earnings statement is enough to prove the employment.. I am the stressed one lol

Our RFE questioned the validity of my fiance's divorce. It was issued in Nevada and she lives in California now. Our lawyer told us this wasn't an issue as CA accept divorces from other US states.

They still denied us anyway. We could have just flew to CA and got married there, only we went by the book and this official process. Now I'll be unable to even visit her in the states as I'll be denied entry.

Simply awful. I wish everyone else here the best and not this dreadful news

This is awful news, it seems like your lawyer overlooked something.

You may have options, talk to a few lawyers and see what can be done. Wish you the best!
