What’s crazy is some May Filer have been at NVC 2 months, some May Filers have made interview dates, some have even been approved and did the POE already and you mean to tell me, we still at USCIS awaiting security checks. @Trinab80 this is nonsense and a total failure on USCIS in handling our cases. I researched even if there is an issue most are resolved in less than 6 months. This is way too long and inexcusable. I’m trying to hold my composure because we at their mercy but I borderline ready to go OFF on Customer Service, Tier 2, everyone. Smh 🤦‍♀️

Don't waste your time calling Tier 2 because they don't know anything and all that's gonna do is make you more frustrated. Start contacting the Ombudsmen and other government agencies at this point.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

I was thinking that they must be doing something to those petitions after they're approved..They can't just be sitting there for nearly 2 months can they? Like you, I'm wondering what they are working on when they took 6 months to approve it...

I'm assuming every petition that's been delayed to NVC is "being worked on" at CSC...Without us even knowing...

So now I'm even more confused.

Called NVC last night. They still don't have it, so I called USCIS today to find out why someone at USCIS told NVCResearch that they were still working on my already approved case. The first rep tells me that he needs to change the info and have the case sent to the consulate, and that's all he can do. I am nicely disagreeing with him because it should go to the NVC - (although wouldn't it be nice to just have it go to the consulate). After doing some research, he tells me that he needs to escalate it.

After waiting several hours, a nice officer (for a change) tells me that according to what he sees, our case was sent to NVC on November 20th!!! The day they tell us it was approved. He's the first to say that it was approved the 18th and two days later sent. I am shocked, and still don't believe it. He tells me that given that the petition approval has an expiration, he is escalating this to an ISO 2 officer (not sure what that exactly means, but hopefully someone takes a serious look at the case status).

I call NVC again and ask about the status. They say they don't have it. I explained what the USCIS officer said, and she asked if I'd written NVC Research. Of course I told her what had already happened. I ended up writing NVC Research again with all of this to try and understand where our case is.

One question: Can anyone remind me of the other office that petitions sometimes get sent to that's not NVC? Is that worth contacting at this point?

That's so strange...I think you might be asking about the NRC because some people have had their petitions sent there by accident.

Hey sis I read what you wrote about it taking so long due to security background checks. I'm so sorry to hear this. In the inquiry did it say when you would get a decision or how much longer it would take? Also, did they respond back to your inquiry via email or you got a letter in the mail?

Not trying to make you feel worse but because your fiance is coming from Senegal which any country in Africa is a very high risk, the background checks are more scrutinized. But if you're still waiting for this reason then I gotta be waiting for the same reason at this point. I still haven't heard anything back from them yet regarding my inquiry.

This is so unreal!!

My fiance is in Nigeria and I got the NOA 2 Nov 29. Just waiting to hear from NVC now with a case number. It's crazy that u guys haven't got something from USCIS yet. They have to find ur paperwork and tell u something. Have u tried making an appointment and actually going into a field office? Idk what they can tell u but sometimes being in the face of someone makes them move faster and better. They must explain what's going on. This is waaaayyyyy too long.

Right now I'm waiting for them to respond to my inquiry. I'm currently in Jamaica until the 15th so depending on the results of my inquiry if I have to I will make an appointment for the Philly field office when I return home.

My response came via email. I been checking there website the last couple days and says no apppointments available. Ousk from The Gambia so I can imagine that may be a reason but it has been long enough😥. Have fun in Jamaica boo. I leave at the end of the month

Same here. Approved Nov. 17. Emailed nvcresearch Jan 2. They replied on Jan 8. I don't understand what kind of work uscis are doing with our petition knowing we were already approved. tsk

Hello,

Filed on 24th May 2017. Received date for interview today (it was posted 20th December and sent to our old address - we moved on 16th Dec and I notified them of the move on 17th Dec and they responded to say they would reply by 29th Dec (they never have). Luckily we have auto-forwarding so it came today. Interview is on Jan 25th at Baltimore, as that's the field office who has been dealing with the application. Very excited now, almost there!

Good luck to anyone else yet to hear. I'm sure it's just down to local processing times.

You’re on the wrong thread. This thread is for 129f May filers. You’re talking about something else.

If you were approved nov 20, you’re still gonna wait. Files from nov 17 approval just made it to NVC today. Give it some time. You’re not an exception.

What on earth does this mean??

"On January 9, 2018, the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until July 8, 2018. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by July 8, 2018, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), with fee."

I received an RFE on 3 November, replied on 14 and the online system said they had RECEIVED our response on 21 November. 50 days later and I see this online? We've had nothing in the mail.

Is this a rejection, another request for further evidence or an approval? Has anyone had this following an RFE? I have no idea what to think now I'm losing my mind. Another 70 days of waiting to get no clarity again :(

Might be your NOA2 that could not be delivered in your address. Better call USCIS.
