Trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel because while I'm so excited to see Reni standing outside the airport tomorrow with a big smile on his face, I know that I will have to come back home without him again. I was depressed as well during the holidays and while we got snow here in DE (not as much as NYC) Philly Airport has already delays and cancellations starting today and I pray that it doesn't interfere with my 8:15am flight tomorrow but I will have to be patient and wait and see what happens.

 

While I'm really not in the predicament to give any advice at this point as we are in the same boat, the only thing that has helped me to deal a little better with things now is looking at a few "silver linings" in this situation; but most importantly, I realize that I needed to let our "plan" go and just let things fall as they do. Not saying to give up hope, but I had plans on us being married 12/31 and right now he's suppose to be sitting right next to me watching me work from home and start on his AOS and other planned things. But that didn't happen. Does it hurt???? Hell yeah, but what can I do at this point??? Stressing over this has only raised my blood pressure and caused me to neglect myself where I got an ear infection. Thank God that it's gone but that happening just showed me that stressing myself is only doing me more harm than good and takes me out of the fight. One of the "silver linings" in this situation is Reni hates the cold and while yes, he will have to learn to deal with it when he comes to live here, this winter thus far, has been the coldest we've had in a few years and the cold, arctic weather came quick! We would have paid for a wedding on 12/31 just to have most of the guest not come because it snowed that day and it was cold and icy so that would have been a waste. So now, I look forward to having a spring wedding (hopefully).

 

I'm sorry you won't be able to spend your birthday with your fiancé but at least you will be there for hers and you two will have plenty more birthdays to spend together after this one, you just have to believe that. I can tell you that calling USCIS every day is a waste and now that they have updated the processing chart, Tier 2 will probably not be doing and taking calls because they have an overwhelming amount of May cases they have to finish up and Tier 2 is not gonna be able to tell you anything more than Tier 1. They are pointless. So, if you haven't done so already, put in your online service request inquiry and wait for an answer. If you hear nothing back by the date they say you should hear something, then start contacting the Ombudsman, and work your way up from there. But calling USCIS at this point is only gonna lead to more depression, trust me when I tell you this. But no, I don't believe your case is lost in a box somewhere, it's a matter of which adjudicator has your case and what their supervisor has indicated to them what is priority to work first. Sad, I know, but I guarantee you if you put in an inquiry already, you will hear something back (approval or RFE) between now and that expired date.

 

Try your best to cope hun!!!! If I wasn't flying out tomorrow, I would drive up to NYC (I'm always back home in NYC than being here in DE) and we could get a drink together and break in your birthday first and have another drink (or 3 more drinks) and break in my birthday Saturday...lol!!! The fight is not over!!!

You mean you just got your NVC case number? Your timeline says you got your NOA2 on Nov. 9?

Yes my case number .....is there anyway  I can track my case to check when it gets to the embassy

Is it good to use as evidence if i send money to my gf for whom i am applying k1? And send reciepts with visa application. This is petitioner sending money to benificary

Here's a link to the State Department case tracker. I think it will say 'ready' when the embassy has it. You can call or email the embassy to find out for sure at any time.

Honestly...no. One reason, sending money to the beneficiary does not provide proof a real relationship. Second reason, you don't want USCIS or the Embassy to think that your fiancé is using you for money. That could send up a red flag as your fiancé's purpose or intent of marrying you. While it's to say that you shouldn't help your fiancé, but it's definitely not good proof to show that the relationship is real without ulterior motives.

I put my inquiry too on 12/26 and on 12/27 it updated and said it has been assigned to an officer for response (ha, what a joke). I'm done calling USCIS because they seem to get more rude and nasty and I'm not beyond over this mess! The inquiry said I should hear something back by 1/17 and Tier 2 told me last week I should hear something back by 1/12. So, they have until 1/17 and then I'll start with the Ombudsman next! But every week I call I keep getting told mid-January I will hear something!!! Yeah, right!!

 

So, I'm leaving this mess here, gonna enjoy my time with my right lung (my son is my left lung), and be stress free!!! Hopefully, I will have something in my mailbox when I get back (I doubt it). I turn 38 Saturday and I want to enjoy be able to be here another year with a smile on my face and not filled with sadness. I go back to being sad when I get back on the plane without him on the 15th.

Happy birthday!!!  I'm January 23rd and be 34!  Want news before my birthday too!  We're in this together.  The last few of us!  Hope we all get something soon.  Congressman said they're sending the request for update again today. So have to wait for them to respond what's going on.  Here's hoping best for all of us!!!

I'm preparing myself for the possibility that they may be closed tomorrow as well.  Some sources are saying the Blizzard Warning will be in effect for 48 hours there.

 

Which means nothing will happen until Monday now.

 

Anyone got any patience to spare? I could use a refill
