@Websters202 exactly what we did.

OMG this process! when do you estimate you will have the interview? We are hoping for late Feb at the latest as the NOA2 expires in early March. Anyone have any experience with an expired NOA2? is that timeline realistic or should we worry that this will go on into and after March?

Call me optimistic, but I'm hoping to get an interview by the end of January.

From my understanding, USCIS will just extend the date on your approval notice if needed without a problem.

If you're in AP, then its a waiting game. Some get stuck for a while. Sorry. Most prob go through some sort of ap, but not for a week. But could be delayed a little because of christmas. Almost every embassy is electronic now, so it usually leaves within a couple days and you will see "in transit"

What does AP stand for?

NOA1 - May 22

NOA2 - Dec 1

NOA2 Hard copy received - Dec 6

NVC received - Jan 18

NVC Case # assigned - Jan 29

Embassy receives documents (NVC status is READY) - Jan 31

Medical Exam - Feb 21

Interview - Feb 27

long wait due to government incompetence realized in 2 month testing for TB

POE - May 22

Administrative Processing. It means they are probably looking at something more (e.g. more background check) its the reason people say dont fill out ds-160 before your case is in transit to embassy/consulate. Even if you already got the case number. And when im referring to this AP, its after they give  case number, not the 6-8 weeks you wait to get the case number

OMG! THIS PROCESS IS SO FRUSTRATING

I just called the NVC after 7 WEEKS of waiting and they DO NOT HAVE OUR PETITION YET.

WHAT? HOW? WHY?

We are beyond exhausted. NOA2 Nov 11, 2017

If they're sending petitions to NVC only once a month I wonder how bad the timeline is going to look...This is pathetic.

I got my case number last week on Dec. 20, and I just called NVC to ask for an update, and they said my case is under AP... When I look at the online tracker, it just says "at NVC". Does anyone know if everyone undergoes AP at NVC? Not sure if i'm in for another hellishly long wait or not...

Great, now AP...As far as I know you're supposed to go through AP after your interview at the embassy. @Terri/Ed has been under AP at NVC stage but I don't know if their case has been sent to embassy yet...It can be from a few hours to months, it's really different...So sorry this happened. It's really not fair after all this freaking wait. It's just one more thing we have to worry about...just great.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday. Sad I couldn't spend it with my fiancée :( Its been a real strain on the relationship but we soldiering through it. Today marks Day 218 with no RFE or anything. Trying to stay optimistic and pray an approval will come before the new year.

I'm at 215 today, so I'm with you in this.  I keep writing congressman but they really don't seem to care or try.  They just inquire and send response.  I think they just talk to tier 1.  This process is frustrating and then nvc next makes me worry too.

I heard they do one last background check on the beneficiary, then send it on to the embassy.

So I think yes everyone goes thru it

@Terri/Ed did your case make it to the embassy? I know it was sent back to USCIS.. did they fix the issue?

with the way things are going I would say longer than a month ago, but I could be wrong ..I figure with holiday, the fact they receive in batches and every other stage has slowed I was hoping it would be in transit by the end of the 1st week in January but will be happy if its this week
