Hello all,

I would really appreciate any help as I am brand new at this and have no idea where to begin. My fiance currently lives in Mashhad, Iran and I am a US citizen. Which form should i be starting with in order to apply for him to come here? I am getting mixed answers online. Should I start with the I-129F?

Thank you in advance!!!!

If you want to apply for fiance visa (k-1) the only forms you need to apply for K-1 are:  I-129f and G-1145.

But with the forms you have to include a lot of attatchements.

I used this guide and it;s super helpfull and orders everthing just fine http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

That is actually a very interesting question.  For the first time we are at a point where a CR-1 is a very good option.  The K-1 is taking longer and longer and the CR-1 is staying consistent.  The K-1 is starting to get to the 10 to 12 month duration between NOA1 and POE.  The CR-1 is running 12 to 14 months.  The advantage of the K-1 is that you will be together sooner.  The downside is the time difference isn't quite what it used to be and you still have another year or more for the Green Card.

The CR-1 takes a little longer but it is cheaper and your husband will have his Green Card when he arrives 12 to 14 months after filing.

I just wanted you to be aware of that before you make your decision.

PS:  The K-1 is a non-immigrant visa that requires you to marry within 90 days of arrival.  The CR-1 would be if you marry him in Iran and file a spousal visa.

Once you decide which way to go we can help you through the process.
