Hi all

:D

I'm starting to fill the i130 form and I have need of some guidance please:

======= Q1 =======
In part 4 of i130
Section 25-28
They ask about beneficiary's spouse information, which they've just asked in section 21-22, which is also the petitioner's details, i.e. the filer of the i130 form.
Would I be right to fill the same details in *every* instance please?

======= Q2 =======

In section 45 of i130
It asks if the beneficiary EVER was to the United States. I am the beneficiary and have only been there once for 1 week for our wedding 9 years ago. Should section 47-50 still be filled please?

======= Q3 =======

Could someone guide me in filling part 4 section 61-62 please... I'm really confused there...

======= Q4 =======

i130a part 1
Parent information:
My Mother is now deceased but theres no tick box for that.

Do I fill this section putting n/a on residency or do I add a note at the end or do I skip this parent altogether please?

======= Q5 =======

Payment of fee....

Do they not accept card payments?

I've never done any payment order or anything like that ..... would western union work?

MANY THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are the beneficiary, why are you completing the I-130?

When it asks for the beneficiary's spouse's name, you must provide this, even though it's obvious because it's a spousal petition. The I-130 is a multi-purpose form used for various family-based petitions. Some questions appear to be redundant but all questions must be answered fully.

Yes, all sections must be completed to the best of your knowledge. Even the part about visiting the USA 9 years ago.

For 61-62 you need to state which embassy you will be interviewing at. I'm going to assume London as I am assuming you live in the U.K.

Where it asks your mother's address just write "deceased".

Payment by check or money order only drawn on a US financial institution. No card payments. No western union. You might want to ask a friend or relative in the USA to buy a money order for you or write a check for you.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Hi Sylv,

Good day.  We didn't processed our DCF in London, but we believe you can pay the filing fees in an equal amount of LONDON Money. Hope this helps.

Our Family

Joshua, a music lover, and Tennessee born guy met Lady Lyn, a Filipina in an online Yahoo Christian Chat while both of them were praising God in a different way.  The latter was bullied by some chatters, and courageous Joshua rescued her like a damsel in distress, that was where a new chapter of life begun with the two of them. Their marriage is blessed in many forms including of rewarding them with a beautiful and joyful baby girl named Abigail Exodus Haltom which named perfectly represents their love and life story as a family.

Thank you so much Haltom Family.

Actually your answer made me read the i130 guide again and it actually says that if we live outside the USA we can call the Consulate for info on alternative mode of payment.

I might just do that tomorrow..... unless someone else here has a clear emphatic..

Thank you very much!!!

I did

It asks if the beneficiary EVER was to the United States. I am the beneficiary and have only been there once for 1 week for our wedding 9 years ago. Should section 47-50 still be filled please?

Yes.  It will also be on the visa application also and the trip dates should match.  I liberally used "additional information" on things like that by giving the dates (we have old passports) but noting that we have no idea what the arrival/departure number is.

======= Q3 =======

Could someone guide me in filling part 4 section 61-62 please... I'm really confused there...

Is the beneficiary in the US?  Overseas?  Choose which one.  As your are outside the US provide the nearest embassy or consulate.

======= Q4 =======

i130a part 1
Parent information:
My Mother is now deceased but theres no tick box for that.

Do I fill this section putting n/a on residency or do I add a note at the end or do I skip this parent altogether please?

Both of us have a deceased parent.  I put "Deceased" in the blank for "residence"
