Canadian Police Check

Hi Guys,

 

I'm from the UK but living in Canada. 

 

I'm still waiting for NOA2 (should be soon) and I've managed to get a police check for Ireland and the UK, my question is has anyone got a police check in Toronto? Can I simply go to the police headquarters and apply there? I'm seeing that for the Canadian you need to get your fingerprints taken, which makes it much harder than the online system at home.

 

Any advice would be awesome.

Hi,

 

I ordered mine here online: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/background-checks/criminal-record-check.php , and took later from the nearest police station. It was ready for 2 weeks! Cost is 20 CAD. And you don't need fingerprinting it is only if you have criminal background

You only need fingerprints for Canadian Background Check if you no longer reside in Canada. Since you are currently residing in Canada, you can just go to your local police station and order the form, fill it out, and turn it in. You will receive it back in the mail in a couple of weeks. I had to get one in Toronto for a job once and I went to the station and got it done. Pretty simple.
